Queues at Dover:

I wonder how many of those caught up in the queues voted for Brexit. We travelled to France dozens of times when we were in the EU and were never held up at French border control (which was often unmanned as it didn't need to check anything). I hopr Brexiteers are sent to the back of the queue.

Like the supporters of Boris Johnson, who refused to accept what an unmitigated disaster his tenure as PM has been – those Brexit supporters refuse to acknowledge the billions in lost exports and the on-going costs of Brexit to UK businesses.

I’ll admit the inconvenience to UK holiday makers heading to the continent is small beer in comparison to the above – but nonetheless it must be annoying to be so delayed.
Isn't it lovely to see Gully and Diddly back together weeping about Brexit? It's like going back in time a few years.
Positively heart-warming. :o)

\\French authorities insisted they had anticipated the increased holiday traffic and put in place plans for maximum staff levels on Friday morning. But they blamed an "unexpected technical incident" in the Channel Tunnel for delaying French personnel's arrival by more than an hour, prompting the backlogs.//
Many times I have spent hours at the border between Spain and Gibraltar - whilst we were in the EU.
That's a very roundabout route to France.
//they [the French] blamed an "unexpected technical incident" in the Channel Tunnel //

But...

//Eurotunnel have responded, saying the incident in the tunnel had absolutely nothing to do with problems at the Port of Dover//

The French being are being arsy as usual - no more no less.
TTT and his class from 5c.
Certainly left their Brains at school.
That is if they had any to leave.
^ as did those blaming Brexit even when its little or nowt to do with Brexit
I am glad that I don't hold a grudge for as long as gulliver, diddly and some others on this site. It seems to have put their lives on hold. Brexit is all time consuming for them even after the years have gone by and there is nothing they can do about it. The French have always had it in for us even when we were in the EU and probably always will. Gulliver saying about some being childish then posting this, "Certainly left their Brains at school.
That is if they had any to leave." Some need to grow up.
spot on, I remember when the french were burning sheep and blockading ports long before Brexit.

And changing the direction of road signs from French ferry ports.
In an excellent article in this morning's Daily telegraph, Robert Tombs (whom God preserve) entitled;

'Self-hating Remainers are blind to the EU's flaws
Their obsession with bashing Britain has not wavered, even as their project across the Channel crashes and burns'

He points out that remainers never explain why they wish to still have EU membership, answers please.

I have made many channel crossings (really a lot) & have often had to face delays due to strikes, snow, storms & motorway accidents. Travel of any sort has always been unpredictable. People who expect absolutely seamless trouble-free movement whenever they want it, really ought to stay at home.
So thats it then ,Crown symbol on Pint Glasses, a Blue Passport ,and a new road sign for the Dartford tunnel. Oh goody.

Read my post above, & tell us what it is that makes you wish you still had membership.
theshedman 08:38, bang, BA right there.
Who in their right mind would have planned to travel on the busiest day of the year?
theshedman 08:38: I agree too. What happens far too often on AB is that life's losers, - people of whom no one cares about them, or what they think, have made a 'great discovery': if I go on AnswerBank & make stupid & fatuous remarks on a subject which many people care about.
Hey-presto! I've suddenly got ATTENTION ! and I don't really have to justify anything I say.

There are several losers on AB, another one on R&S eternally playing the same game with religion.

They're all a bit sad really.
