One for disabled travellers in Europe to keep an eye on.

Conversely ….

//The British government allows the use of French blue badges in disabled parking spaces anywhere in the country. The same is true for badges from any other European Union member state. //

How mean. Yet another example of the pettiness - and spitefulness - of the EU.

I don't think we would be that petty. mally. At least I hope not.
Well that says a lot more about the EU than it does about us.
That would be a very shabby response. Any opportunity to inflict punishment upon our democratic vote.

Maybe better in Motoring?
There will be some on here soon that say it is our fault for leaving the EU. Just shows how petty they can be. By the way places like the US who are also not in the EU are allowed to use their blue badges in the EU so why do they want to single us out.
Can't use it in many countries and only in some US states. I don't know why people assumed the blue badge could be used anywhere.

No reciprocal agreement between England and Wales re seniors bus passes, either.

The BBC article - the 'news' - is from 3 hours ago.
Bus passes in Wales are also available to anyone from 60 and not as in England upon reaching pension age.
Question Author
This isn't about bus passes - or Wales.
I wonder what the figures are of disabled US citizens actually driving in France?
Barely scraping double figures?
It is not the EU that makes these decisions, it is the governments of each country. The UK blue badge is accepted in some EU countries.
I was referring to the original story from the second link, dated February.
You are right, Naomi, but it is about reciprocal agreements regarding travel and permits between countries.
Tut tut Fatti, minorities abound.
Even on AB,,,
Sorry about that naomi. FatticusInch the fact is they are talking about stopping just us and not people from other countries, not about the actual number of people that use them.
Question Author
Fatticusinch, I know what you were referring to but that's simply confirmation that European badges are accepted in this country - which I took the trouble to find before anyone asked.

//It is not the EU that makes these decisions, it is the governments of each country. //

But it is happening because we left the EU.
Let’s wait and see if it’s implemented first, eh?
Question Author
You wait if you want to. Others would like to talk about it.
