...She's bang on, the wee un keeps banging on about a referendum when the problems in Scotland are severe and numerous. You had your "once in a generation" vote in 2014, now get on with improving the lot of your people.

all part of the service dougie!
Listening to her sound bites on this mornings News , I feel she’s going to be a strong leader but there are shades of Thatcher in what we see of her, I can see past my dislike of Thatcher and if Truss comes through with things like ‘reducing’ Whitehalls top heavies’ and ‘ignoring Sturgeon’ with a wave of the hand, then I’m listening and liking her a bit more
I'm more concerned about her fiscal intent rather than meaningless sound-bites. The proof of the pudding, and all that...
Notwithstanding her accurate assessment of Sturgeon, people seem to forget that she's actually an idiot.

We've managed to get rid of one so why install another right away?
Quite incredulous and pathetic really that the next PM of the United Kingdom would advocate ignoring and be so denigrating of the democratically elected leader of one of the countries that make up said ‘United Kingdom’.

What happened to all the proper statesmen/women and politicians who acted with decorum, integrity and decency when dealing with their peers and equals?

She’s certainly just lost Scotland at the GE.
“people seem to forget that she's actually an idiot. ”

Ah.
Glad there’s someone to put us right there.
No point telling us: have a word with someone that matters
I’m bored with it all now.

There is no choice between the two contenders, they are practically clones of Boris.
Truss will easily win by a very large margin 70-30.
And as pointed out, she has always been an idiot.
Bit harsh canary... my recollection is that when he died there were huge crowds and lots of well wishers as he was still seen as a charity raising hero... the truth hadnt started to come out then (just whispers). Or is my memory wrong

Fatti: "She’s certainly just lost Scotland at the GE" all the main parties have lost Scotland decades ago. Scotland has lost Scotland, to the Blue woad brigade. The difference is that the Tories don't need Scotland, Labour do.
To be honest, what is said by either party at the moment needs taking with a large pinch of salt.
Ben Wallace’s endorsement, and that of Tom Tugendhat, are the clinchers I’d say
ichkeria
//To be honest, what is said by either party at the moment needs taking with a large pinch of salt.//

Quite the contrary, whatever one says as a politician will always come back to haunt you at the most in opportune moment.
This particular idiot will come to rue what she said but especially at a GE.
yeah she duh foo foo wun
if the UK govt forbids another referendum in Scotland... what is to stop them just printing the ballots and doing it anyway??

nothing, but it will not be legal and will not be implementable. NS could find herself in jail.
“Quite the contrary, whatever one says as a politician will always come back to haunt you at the most in opportune moment”

That’s not what I meant of course. Having said that, she called NS an “attention seeker” - It’s an opinion of which there are many in politics. I can’t see it coming back to “haunt her” exactly
//What happened to all the proper statesmen/women and politicians who acted with decorum, integrity and decency when dealing with their peers and equals?//

They didn’t have to deal with the leaders devolved administrations (who are neither their peers nor equals) some of whom, instead of concentrating on emptying the bins, prefer to strut their stuff as “international” leaders.

// Quite the contrary, whatever one says as a politician will always come back to haunt you at the most in opportune moment.//

Experience tells me that the chances of more than about 1% of their pledges turning into reality is near enough nil and why they are bothering to trouble the electorate at large is somewhat puzzling. They would be better off simply roaming round the country, visiting the Conservative clubs, having a Gin & Tonic whilst doing their best to get the members drunk enough to believe their fairy tales. This would keep them off the telly and out of the way of other people going about their business. Politicians must be used to their musings coming back to haunt them as they all make promises they know they will not keep.

yes I agree judge, pointless putting them on the roger.
