but why does she care about someone being appointed to a council in scotland (it's not like she's scottish or lives in tayside)
i get really fed up with modern news whereby people who dont have any more of a valid opinion than me get quoted. I didnt read the whole article, but did they also quote twitter (another recent thing in news reporting i hate).

Well as already mentioned ruined there’s the link to the footballers and as I alluded to I’d have thought it gets difficult for the ladies in Wimbledon fortnight, given that all players follow the tradition of wearing all white.

I don't live in Scotland either but I have an opinion, so I don't see why Martina shouldn't have. (Just as I have no objection to British ABers denouncing American gun laws.) Unlike me she comments under her own name, and since her name is well known, news media may decide to highlight her response.
You might think the media have better things to do with their time but I don't see any reason why she should be expected to shut up.
