Yes absolutely ladybirder remember her the Dad and the Queen Mother. Also remember being taken to my uncle's house to watch the Coronation on his television (rich part of the family :-)
there's heavy rain up the Dee, hence the cars. What surprises me is that Me...Me... sorry Meghan has gone too. What about the Duchess of Cambridge or is she doing the school run?

This seems to have happened very suddenly because although she looked frail yesterday she looked very alert and was smiling
To think...she celebrated her Silver Jubilee the year I was born.

I can't ever imagine getting used to her not being our Monarch.
Yes she's looking after the children on their first full day at their new school
I have to say i find it difficult to feel sad if she has passed... she is 96 and is at home with her loved ones close by... as far as I know she never lost her faculties in her last years... we all have to go some day and that's the best way it's possible to go... she had a pretty good and full life and as deaths go it is a pretty good one... I'd like to go that way.
So very sad. I hope she pulls through this and survives "God save the Queen".

o god at that age, even kings and queens
just keel over and die

time for last words? Charles II - apologised for taking such an unconscionable time dying

the scene in Victoria - the Kensington years - was very like what happened in 1837. wellington, archbish, and Ld Chancellor rode down to Kensington, and resisted blandishments from the Duchess of Kent to call again at a sane hour

Geroge V - how goes it with the Empire - official

i find it difficult to feel sad if she has passed.
no - I have to say I am blubbing and whispering prayers in Latin. I cant say I am praying for a miracle - the saints to whom I addressing my prayers ( variety of languages) are similarly confused

yeah Meghan - I predict - - - I was FORCED to attend the Queens funeral and I wasnt even related!

Oprah - really? they did THAT!
This may be pulled but my niece has a friend at the BBC, apparently the announcement will be at 18:00. She is a loss to the world not just our country. There will never be another person (I suspect) who is respected worldwide for her service, devotion and love of our country.
Some years ago, I was not a fan of the monarchy. However, I now see a remarkable individual in our queen. She is compassionate and caring and a real example of leadership and dignity, often in the face of adversity.

Like a lot of people, I never supported Thatcher and her policies, but the disgusting behaviour of some when she died showed total disrespect.

I hope the same doesn't happen should the queen die in the next few days.

What happened to the British qualities of dignity and respect?
"I can't ever imagine getting used to her not being our Monarch."

You will. We eventually get used to our parents not being around and they (usually) have much more influence on our day to day lives than any Monarch.

Pulled or not
I thought they wanted all the important royals cross the line,
someone blows a whistle
and the next act begins

George V - "The King's life is drawing quietly to a close"
Also Lord Dawson ( "no one in London cd die in those days without Dawsons permission") had given a decent dose of morphine. Criticised 50 y later but so what?
How very strange it will be not to have our Queen around, I will miss her lovely heart warming smile (a smile I have seen in person when she visited my area and I was lucky enough to see her). I also marvelled at how tiny she was. I was two when she became Queen, so I have known no other and I will miss her. She has become frailer and frailer since Philip died, the same happened with my beloved Mum after Dad died and she too passed 14 months later. I had a feeling the Queen wouldn't last much longer after Philip. I know she is a great age and has had a good life, but so what ?? I feel the world will be a sadder place without her and her radiant smile and I can feel the tears starting. God bless her, always.
"Along the lines the electric message came: he is no better, he is just the same."

Ah, they don't write them like that any more!

(In fact, I have probably misquoted, but then I am getting a bit old.)
