A very sad day Rest In Peace Ma'am
23:11 Thu 08th Sep 2022
she lived a long colourful happy and comfortable life and died peacefully at age 96 with her faculties intact and surrounded by loved ones… i can’t say i feel sad. That’s certainly how I’d like to die.
Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that "I know"
I then turned and looked behind me,
and seen I was asleep.
All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.
I gently touched each shoulder,
with Phillip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
with My Angel guide.
Phillip held my hand,
as he lead the way,
to a world where King's and Queens,
are Monarch's every day.
I was given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.
The difference is up here,
they are worn by everyone.
I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.
70 years I had served my Country,
as the peoples friend.
Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace up above.
I have cried at the death of Her Majesty who has been on the throne for most of my life. She has never put a foot wrong and deserves all the reverence that has been poured upon her over the last few hours. RIP
A very sad day

Rest In Peace Ma'am
The black cabs lining The Mall did it for me

//The black cabs lining The Mall did it for me//

They do the same every year by the HoP for Veterans attending the Cenotaph service.
They never charge on that day.
The taxi taking my granddaughter and me to our air bnb just outside Porto didn't charge us tonight. He was listening to the news which was being translated from BBC to Portugeuse news
for what it's worth, and some were asking when she died, this says Truss was told at 4.30, two hours before it made the news (and may have happened some time even before that)

no matter when, of comfort no man speak
lets talk of graves and worms and epitaphs
Make dust our paper and with rainy eyes
write sorrow upon the bosom of the earth.
i can't believe she has gone, it just seems like yesterday when she was a little girl shyly smiling at her father and family, in photo's often unseen until recently.
may you rest in peace Your Majesty.
I have been so sad today, I couldn't even answer my phone when it rang a couple of times because I knew it would be someone who wanted to talk about it and I couldn't. Although we knew she wouldn't live forever, it has still come as a terrible shock. R.I.P your Majesty.

She deserves all the mourning and all the tributes. I wish I could get down to London, I'd love to be there. A life well lived and a life that will be sorely missed. I can't believe she's gone. Dear Queen RIP with your beloved Philip now. We miss you.

This is a remembrance thread, let's be civil.
sorry - they'll be putting me on the naughty step again!
Sorry LadyCG, but I momentarily saw red at such disrespect.
