If only the Deputy PM had at least taken the wheel of the ship directly after Boris was made to walk the plank, instead of insisting they could do nothing until the diabolically long leadership contest had finished? Who he?
Oops, have read your link now Bobbi. Doesn't bode well for him.

Jeremy Hunt Maggie, one time Health secretary
that's today, tomorrow he'll probably be gone with Truss . . .
Question Author
I think he’s a bit of a hard liner Maggs
as I recall he was a not-bad health secretary who was none the less dumped when Boris took over. He was also famous for having his surname periodically mispronounced on TV.

I don't know if health secretary is good training for the chancellorship, we'll see.

I thought the same jno
Was Kwasi the quasi chancellor then?

He seems to have lacked support from Truss.

Dons coat and exits...
It'll be interesting to see how Truss will dress this up - Kwarteng's economic philosophy is Truss'.

By sacking him, what is she left with. She has no political capital to fall back on, and free market experiment has (so far) blown up in her face (along with those who have mortgages and rely on pension income).

Does that mean we’ll still get the revised statement(with the OBR reports) on Halloween as promised?

Probably scrapped Fatts ;0)
What a mess this Tory Party has made for themselves. They couldn't run a Bath ... get rid of the whole lot of them at the next G/E Which isn't very far away by the look of things.
I'm not a Truss fan, but in fairness she hasn't had much chance to lay plans for anything non-economic: it's been crisis all the way, with spare time taken up by the queen's death. I'd be inclined to give her a month or two to start work properly, but her excitable MPs may not agree.

I’m not a fan of hers either , id rather have seen Penny Mordaunt in number 10

She (and Kwarteng) chose to announce the mini-budget without explaining to the markets how the tax cuts would be funded.

Instead it was left to Larry, the ships cat to remain the only legitimate tenant in 10 Downing St.
A crisis entirely of their own making, choosing the sycophants over the sound, the deluded over the diligent and inept over the industrious.
What a pathetic spectacle and diabolical disaster we’ve had foisted on us.

Fatti, as a Tory voter myself, I have to agree with you, so BA
Thanks!
The man who wanted 15% Corporation tax (!)
My prediction is tho he’ll still be in the cabinet this time next week and this PM … won’t
