Another Manifesto pledge broken by the Tories .
How many pensioners will vote Tory at the next G/E now that they have suspended the triple lock system on their state pensions. Typical Tory Trick The rich get rich and the pensioners get poorer.

Voting for the same Party regardless of how well they perform is just monumentally stupid. Even if you're a long-term Tory supporter, it should be obvious that you want a *competent* and capable Tory party. A good way to achieve that is to send them to opposition now and then, to make sure that they don't fall into complacency. As regards the triple lock, I'm...

I just realised that empty should be apply! I feel for clarion too and know why he's worried. Pension credits should not exist.
There are some who seem to think that the pension is a "benefit". I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I worked from age 18 to age 62 (with short breaks to have family and go to Uni) and feel I have earned my pension. In fact, I paid my "missed" contributions so I would have a full pension. Much good it has done me. I really feel for those who have to go cap in hand for pension credits. Outdated and humiliating.
NAOMI, "Jim, I've no idea what a retcon is"

"Retcon" is "retroactive continuity" and is used in fiction to change what has already happened. A good example is the killing of Bobby Ewing being only a dream.

It's basically a rewriting of history.

yeah like the gubmint does - hur hur hur

the government demands you apply for the pension and then tells you you have been granted the benefit.

You do know the Triple Lock is staying now?
Question Author
L/B 15,12 No . Please tell me more.
Gully - Liz Truss confirmed that she is committed to it. The problem might be that it depends how committed to Truss the Tories are.
The reason I suggested google was that not knowing your personal circumstances it might be easier to look for yourself. Very flattered that you think I'm wise

L/B @ 15 .22 Many thanks.
Apparently economists reckon that raising pensions doesn't fuel inflation in the way that raising wages does.
Question Author
M/T @ 15.22 You are welcome .
Why is it called triple lock .Well summit I was thinking I do not have a mortgage so I would be willing to give the triple lock to help people who must be terrified of what is happening to repayment on their homes .Some thing must be done . Oh aye everything went pear shaped when Liz made the mini budget not after all the uturns why aren’t these people dropping their mortgages rates again .
It's probably a fair bet that most of the money given out to old-age pensioners very quickly gets spent; the same won't be true of tax breaks to wealthy people.
