How Many Government Fuel Payments
40 Answers
have the people of GB received?
Here in NI the only people to receive are pensioners receiving their normal payments and those on benefits - no one else has received anything or will recieve anything before January at the earliest!
At this rate we will be lucky to get it for Summer - this is because the 'Government' here is not runing because of Brexit!

Helen, to answer your question, we have received £ 500 WFA and three lots of 66 refunds from our energy company. There was another amount earlier but I can't remember how much it was. I have put it all into a separate account. It's money for the bills.

We've received 2 fuel payments of around £60 directly onto our electricity account and are about £195 in credit . Dad is annoyed its gone onto the electric account because we don't use much grid electricity, yet our kerosene and logs we use for heating has doubled in price from last year with no help from the Government. I think the allowance should have gone into bank accounts to spend on whichever fuel the consumer uses to heat their home.
Tilly, I don't know, we are with Bulb and they are in Administration ,going to be taken over by Octopus. I know Dad managed to get the direct debit they were asking down from £120 a month to £75, which even at £75 is more than enough as before the prices went up, we were using around £35 per month. We get kerosene three times a year. Our last tank full was over £750, the tank before that was £390. Dumpy bags of kiln dried logs gone from £85 to £160 mainly cos everyone is now getting log burners.
It appears to me the DUP are using the protocol problem as an excuse. I think the real reason is they don't want to work under a Sinn Fein leader. It's disgraceful they are still receiving a slightly reduced pay, until recently full pay, for doing nothing. where else, except in politics, would this happen? They, no doubt, will enjoy their Christmas, and not give a damn about others, some of whom can't even afford to heat their homes.
Since I'm on pre payment meters, I'm getting a monthly voucher from SSE...I can split it and use on whichever utility I want. I've had 2 so far ...they come the middle of the month.
I've not yet received the winter fuel payment. It's about 2 weeks 'late'...I usually have it around 21-23 November. Had the letter ages ago.

//The "government" there is not running because your politicians are incompetent bigoted fools.//
Dave is half right. The real reason the “government” there is not running is because the ridiculous terms of the equally ridiculous Good Friday agreement mean that it can only be formed following an election with the consent of the losers. It’s rather like suggesting that the Westminster Tory government, which was elected by a majority of 80 seats last time, could not function unless the Labour Party agreed.
