Yet Another Brexit Disaster
Apparently thousand of postal packages per day are being returned from Ireland (to GB) for not having the required digital codes added to the package, allowing their tax status to be identified.
The EU rules (known as Customs 2020) are required on postal items arriving from outside the EU; these rules were first implemented by Ireland, but are due to come into force across the whole of the EU next month.
Although this will affect many private citizens sending items to family & friends - small businesses will be hit hardest with non-delivery of orders, ultimately with those in Europe seeking alternate suppliers (not from within GB).
Remember the Brexiteers telling us red-tape would be reduced following Brexit?

//You can't get your goods out of the UK thanks to Brexit.//
No, we have difficulty getting them into EU nations - and that's quite different. In the case of Scottish seed potatoes, it's clearly the fault of the EU Commission (as explained in my earlier answer and confirmed by both Scottish and EU potato farmers). Brexit gave them the opportunity to ban those goods, but they didn't have to take it.

I think this is just yet another example of one one particular group can do things in order to cause issues and then have their sycophants try to blame Brexit. It gets very tedious, and no, I'm not reading through 4 pages of useless squabbling. Either the PO should stamp/print this number on, I feel sure some default could be used, or folk need to be aware that the EU are trying to close up shop with the rest of the world and we should all leave them to it.
One should not need to point out that whilst an independent nation can choose to reduce it's red tape, it is also the case that awkward trouble making countries or groups are able to increase the red tape on their side up to the heavens and beyond. It doesn't take a degree in rocket science to work out which side one should be taking responsibility if they do.

What NJ and the Brexiteers don’t understand is that since Brexit we are a third country outside the EU, and as such have no say in how they operate – to expect them to make some concession (say with regards seed potatoes or any other goods) is naive in the extreme (even if it might be beneficial to both parties).
Being in the EU was beneficial to both parties allowing free trade of all goods – just that we voted to end that. Brexiteers now cannot complain about something that has happened that they voted for.

Hymie, the only ones complaining are you and a few of the ones that support your non stop moaning. The rest of us will just get on with it as we must. Whether for good or bad we are out so no use moaning all the time. The bit about the EU classing us as a third country, so by your reckoning that makes everyone outside the EU one too so that means most of the rest of the world. If you are so in love with the EU why not go and live there it's the only way for at least many years that you can be part of it.
Aw, some still worried about what I’m up to?
Rambo again? How original.
The site is dying, the moderation tells you that. The hounders don’t get suspended, those ganged up on do.
As ever I’m flattered and fascinated with your obsessions but I’ll go UI on this one too, unlike the multi-users eh Tora?

Why do Brexiteer object when remainers point out the disaster that Brexit is and the damage it is inflicting on the country?
They seem to just want the damage to continue, without considering how it can be fixed.
Without remainers, Brexiteers would continue in their false belief that they have reached the Brexit sunny uplands.
As I have pointed out, the way to fix the disaster that Brexit is for the UK, is to re-join the EU.
