You Can Go Off People, Can You Not?
Two things which turned me off some people in 2022.
The King: For throwing his God-mother Lady Hussey under a bus.
Boris Johnson: For recommending a 30 something, nobody friend of his wife, Carrie for ennoblement to The House of Lords.
Do you agree ?

Naomi - why dont you ?
none of mine survive the "deleting mod"
1984 - Trotsky - two minutes hate - defenestration ( deleted for length alone) - first second and third,
( defenestrations silly!)
have all been flushed down the bog, in recent days
( even advice to Sqad when he was a medical student)
gone ! all gone!

// Winnie Mandela did what was necessary. //
Dr M.L.King just like WinnieM faced persecution.
The difference, he categorically repudiated violence to further his aims.
Unforgivable was her endorsement of necklacing. She was a conspirator to both murder and torture.
WM can be summed up in one word... 'Loathsome!'

Redhelen72 : //Khandro is off on his crusade again!
If I were to ask it would be once not several times.
To put a picture of the lady in question singled out in such a way shows Khandro for exactly what he appears to be.//
And what would that be ?
The OP wasn't about opening an inquiry, - though one may be needed, but at the end of the year stating why I personally had 'gone off people', that's why its in News, because everyone at the moment seems to be taking stock of the passing year.
p.s. There's the huge subject of what is "news", is the fastest & quickly abandoned or the slowest & more studied & salient the best? The Lady Hussey affair has a long way to go, methinks
For "slow journalism"; see, 'Tortoise', 'The Conversation', 'Coda'. -- hmmm!

If someone asks you where you’re from and you tell them that should be it.
Should’ve gone like this:
Lady Hussey: Where are you from?
Ms Fulani: I’m from Hackney
Lady Hussey: I meant your family - I’m guessing your clothes are an African design. Which country?
End of story.
But she shouldn’t have moved her locks out of the way of her name badge - that’s simply rude.

Khandro - All through the extensive thread that debated this incident at the time, and still today, you repeat your edited and selective version of what was said, omitting the offensive remarks that led to the incident in the first place.
"Where are you from?" is a polite question?
"Where are you really from, where are your people from?" is not.
Lady Hussey accepts it was not polite.
It's time to drop your nonsensical snobbery, that someone who moves in royal circles must automatically be incapable of being offensive, and accept it as well.

Bednobs. So, she wasn't put in chains and sent to the tower but, she felt she should resign therefore causing self-punishment to herself, giving up a job she had done for over 60yrs.
Also, it caused 'some' people to say what an awful person she must be and I expect that was a punishment to her as well.
None of us were there to know exactly what happened, but looking in from the outside, I would say this incident should have been handled discreetly and maybe the Lady wouldn't feel as disgraced.
