MPs are seeking a £162.000 redundancy payment and a Medal if they lose an Election, to help them land a new job in a resettlement Package.
And also want a Medal of service to be presented at a special reception with family and friends. This recommendation will be handed to Sir Lindsay Hoyle for consideration..... No doubt this idea has been thought up by MPs of the outgoing Tory Govt.

You obviously missed this prominent sentence, gulliver
"Report by cross-party group points to more generous German system as a potential model for UK Parliament"

Cross-party. Do you understand what that means?

Barry ' 09.30 I know what a "Cross Party " will be, Next year........The Tory Party...
I've always said that if an MP loses his or her seat, they have in effect been sacked by the electorate. As such, they should not receive anything more than what is paid to someone who is sacked from a job in the outside world.

Many of those MPs losing their seats have real difficulty in finding a new job as there is no call for ex MPs ,and will need this compensation to support themselves. The present Tory MPs could maybe get a job advising the Fraud Squad.
//MPs losing their seats have real difficulty in finding a new job as there is no call for ex MPs //

Not a lot of thinking behind that one, Gulliver. No MP has always been an MP. They all did other jobs before they entered parliament.

This is of course another case of the ,Doomed Tory MPs, who are members of the soon to be- out-going- Govt in 2024, having a last shake of the taxpayers money tree to make sure there is a windfall on their side of the fence.
