Cannot believe the police are not able to confirm or deny shared usage of the pavement. Did the pedestrian make physical contact with the cyclist? Did the cyclist leave the pavement in fear of being assaulted? The cyclist was not wearing a helmet.
Overall, tbph, I am surprised by the verdict and punishment.

Police turn a blind eye to cyclists illegally riding their bikes on pavements nowadays because thee are no cops on the beat any more. Pavements are becoming more and more dangerous because of cyclists often speeding along with no care at all for pedestrians. I feel this lady was right to complain, but not to push the cyclist. I feel sad for all concerned, but I don't feel this disabled lady should have been jailed.
Madness, she didn't touch him and he should not have been on the pavement anyway. This now gives carte blanche to cyclists to ride illegally. Should have been given medal is you ask me. I always shout "get on the kin road" at them can I now be done for manslaughter if one of the morons rides in front of a bus? makes my blood boil.
This woman gets 3 years for not touching a cyclist who fell off their bike. This Guy gets half that for killing a pedestrian in an actual collision whilst riding a bike with no front brakes.

Controversial to say the least!!
The pavement has become a more hazardous place than say 30 years ago. Mobility/disabled traffic, electric scooters and bicycles are now a common sight on our pedestrian highways!
The woman cyclist was 77 years old and fell off due to the gesticulations of the 49 year old woman. It's unlikely the 77 year old was going around at breakneck speed and probably due to her age frightened to go on the road?? Is it in the public interest to lock up the 49 year old woman, probably not!!

As she is reported at merely gesturing as she rightfully complained of a cyclist using the pavement then, based on that, she has done nothing wrong, and the court verdict is inexplicable. Maybe we aren't being informed of the correct version of events that the court was privy to. Pedestrians are not responsible for cyclists who choose to put their life in peril by cycling and then fail to avoid an accident.
