I haven't read all this guff, but he seems to be a huge figure of sympathy because of his failure to make his farm work out.

I just found the following, and now I'm a devotee of this sensitive man.
" In his latest column for The Sunday Times, he wrote: " I can never sleep properly the night before they go, and all the way to the slaughterhouse I have what feels like a hot cricket ball in the pit of my stomach.

Jeremy Clarkson's farm was also hit by another tragic loss after an accident. Although Jeremy had been looking forward to his remaining female pigs welcoming new piglets into the world, tragedy struck on the farm when one pig accidentally killed ten of her babies after giving birth.

The mother pig was later nicknamed Clumsy by Jeremy and his partner Lisa Hogan, after she sat on two of her 10 piglets, leading to all of their deaths."

Anyway, at last I didn't see any mention of him being afraid of his venture failing. That's good news for some. :-)

I don't think the purpose of his farm was ever to make money. It's just a subject for a TV programme and a vehicle to bring him into view.

Would you be so horrid about any farmer that posted such issues on here or is it just ones you perceive to be rich or privileged?
If it's about the meat thing do you go onto what's for dinner threads and snipe at anyone who might mention a meat based meal? I haven't noticed that you do.

The TV stuff is mostly for comic effect, obviously, apart from the precious nimby neighbour nonsense and the sham of a council.

I'd buy him a pint if he was skint. :-)

The council that refuses him planning for everything regardless because they can't stand him. Even when he wanted to open a restaurant near the farm shop which would have used produce from his, and local farms and help to keep them afloat and which the farmers wanted

I like Clarkson despite myself. As for the OP, I've seen both seasons of Clarkson's Farm and I think it gives a helpful impression of the trials and tribulations of British farming, so much so that he won an award for it by the British Farming Awards. He shows how pathetic and pompous local councillors can be sometimes, as have I! He highlights some of the problems that Brexit has caused for farmers. And he shows the emotional issues of dealing with livestock, as a farmer and omnivore. I will enjoy the third season.

i think you're right dougie - i also think that more people agree with him than disagree, he just has the equipment to say it and they dont. Plus there is probably a subset of people who hate both clarkson and sussexes, but "my enemy's enemy" and all that
