"Lets Get Brexit Done"
Said Boris ... It seems like you Brexiteers have been done again.
Sunak is to leave thousands of EU laws intact. Only one in five EU laws will be scrapped, out of the 4,000 Promised. Thats twice you Brexiteers have been done. You were "Oven ready " Ok ......You have burnt your bridge.

and a fortiori ( = more persuasively, to english monophones) to trade with the Eu we wd have to adhere to EU regs but now have no input.
The cabinet is set to scrap as a non-starter the Great Big British bill of Liberties ( David Cameron) - you know the one where you end up with FEWER rights than under current legislation. The one the voters voted for. Voter as mutt.
Plan A was to convert the current legislation with wonder-phrases like "substitute European Court with Supreme Court of the UK"
and didnt realise statements
"The supreme court will take cognizance of decisions of the european court" - would now read as nonsense.

But surely the point you miss, Bobo is there are 4000
and even reviewing 400 a year will take 10y
Incredz the postulated solution was 'The Henry VIII' clause(*) whereby the minister cd vary primary legislation with a stroke of his wise ministerial pen. That is to vary things like "The King of England is the King of England" (#). And they have latterly realised this isnt a very good idea. (+)
(*) yes the Henry VIII clause has really had its day - Law Lord Poncey or Fontleroy
(#) Yes the minister cd vary this to "The King of England now is NOT the King of England" under a Henry VIII clause and .... no one wd be the wiser.
(+) Done with the min of Health and GMC regs. Not hailed as a great step forward or raving success. see (*). and also see "The reform of the GMC is now looked on as urgent"

That's because Sunak isn't a good choice as PM.
It was either you, or the potential deal that was oven ready. I used to think it was the deal that the EU scuppered, but since you bring the phrase up, maybe it was you after all.
However it is good that you realise, not replacing inappropriate laws isn't a good thing, and isn't what Brexit supporters expect from the nation's leader. Still, the opportunity to change them later still exists, which wouldn't be the case had remainers got their way.
Fairly certain it won't take anywhere near that long PP. Can't recall the fellow's name but the media have, on a number of occasions, given this lawyer type a voice who says and had a blueprint for how to get it done much faster; and indicating those who insist otherwise are merely looking to delay and ideally for them, stop the law changes.

There was a very good reason to leave Europe as far as many of us were concerned and not for political reasons. We had been concerned for many years about the total charge in what the EU was all about. Originally a trade agreement turning into a takeover by a few countries and TTT isn't far off with his views. Most sensible Brexiteers could see that and realised it was a long term thing and were prepared for problems. And that was not because of political affiliations. I am happy to be European, but glad to be out of the EU. Just unhappy that so many on here don't move on and keep whittling on and on about it.
Cameron started Brexit but it was Churchill who seeded the EU.
"“There is a remedy which ... would in a few years make all Europe ... free and ... happy.
It is to re-create the European family, or as much of it as we can, and to provide it with a structure under which it can dwell in peace, in safety and in freedom.
We must build a kind of United States of Europe.”
