Has announced, he will be standing down as an MP at the GE. He joins 30 other Tory MPs who have announced exit plans including Sajid Javid, and George Eustice .Do you think they know the writing is on the wall for the Cons

It is not unusual for ex-Ministers to not seek re-election.
They have been there, risen as high as they ever will, and life on the backbenches dull by comparison.
Many of the 30 MPs are in seats that they could lose, so stepping down avoids the ignominy of defeat.

gulliver has 'ignoring relevant articles that goes against his rant' down to a fine art.

I wish people would accept that Gulliver is King of the wind-ups, he’s not going to answer you but he’ll put a spin on what you post , his vocabulary consists of Cons, Con Club, Boris,( especially Boris) radicalised and not much else,he can but won’t do links because that would be him being cooperative , gets off at saying he’s drinking a pina Colada in a different place , I’m not interested at all where he lives, turns answers to insults and gets away with what many don’t , Gulliver to sum up,is a bear baiter …..and should be taken with a pinch of salt :0)
Bobbisox, what you have written is the definition of a troll but for some unknown reason this site has a different idea of what a troll is, seeing as how trolling is mentioned in Site Rules and yet these people remain.

Re: trolls. We all have the option of ignoring posts, if sufficient numbers do it then they wither and die.

Trolls actively seek out posters to harass and intimidate. Gulliver doesn't do that, despite his one-eyed Labour, anti-Tory perspective.
'gulliver has 'ignoring relevant articles that goes against his rant' down to a fine art.'

He fails to see it just makes him look even more juvenile.
So on a pro-rata basis the number of Tory MPs not seeking re-election is not too dissimilar to the number of Labour MPs not seeking re-election.

Massive fail there Gulliver. On to your next one.
According to Wikipedia,

"As of 23 May 2023, a total of 55 Members of Parliament have announced their intention to not stand for re-election (Conservative: 37, Labour: 13, Independent: 4, Plaid Cymru: 1)."
Watch out, Mr G will be in full flood, or diarrohea as it's just been announced that his 'boyfriend' has had his case from #10 referrred to His Maj's Met Police.... an AB VGW is now in force, 'Verbal Garbage Warning'.
