Nadine Dorries
Despite promising to resign with immediate effect last week, she hasn't done it yet. Any ideas what's going on there?

Either way will give her great pleasure; either blushing with pride at her capturing a gong or flushing with satisfaction at deflating his ----.
Boris promised her a ticket on the Lords gravy-train, which in fairness to Boris it was not he who rescinded the ticket.
Having realised that if she gave up being paid as an MP, she’d have to get by on whatever GB News are paying her to spout nonsense – so she decided not to resign.
There is some suggestion that she is holding out for a promised peerage from Sunak, rather than forcing another by-election – but I think the above more likely.

Despite Nadine Dorries being mad – that alone is not a reason to refuse her a peerage.
In fact, for the government positions/office she has held, it is my understanding that such a person would normally be given a peerage at the end of their service – so perhaps she is not being unreasonable, being in a huff.

Rumour has it that she isn't resigning after all. Not until she brings others down first.

ah, it seems she's refusing to leave till someone tells her why she's not going to the House of Lords. I can think of several good reasons myself

all part of the tory party tearing itself apart.
She is a pouting spurned woman and is therefore totally irrational ( we have a few of them on AB! ter daah). When people park a sheaf of papers on a conveyor belt - those ON the conveyor belt dont comment on how it is going.
Dorries felt she should have been told ( having been told ) that a delayed ladyship was a non-starter. So the Very Day before she was refused, she said she wasnt going that day. Lordship promotion death. committed in front of listeners
so.... she is delaying her leaving so that by-elections are staggered and drawn out. Intentionally damaging her party
ho hum, Hymie and Gully are right ( the minoirty is always right - Ibsen) - we are looking at achange of govt after a tory disaster
