The deepest underwater rescue ever achieved was that of Roger R. Chapman and Roger Mallinson, who were trapped aboard the Pisces III for 76 hours when it sank to 1,575 feet on Aug. 29, 1973, according to Guinness World Records.
The wreck of the Titanic is 12,500 feet deep. Sadly I think that sums it all up.
Many millionaire's /billionaire's who people criticized on how they spend their wealth are investing in businesses that create jobs and supporting charities, I don't begrudge them their adventures.
It's really sad watching live coverage and waiting for the outcome.
Well done TTT.
//18:49, invariably it's lefties who hate anyone doing well and have a chip on their shoulder like a 4x2.//
Once again you've managed to introduce politics.
Your definition of a troll is?
The descent all the way down the Titanic wreck would take 2 hours. Contact (pinging) was lost after one & 3 quarter hours. I think that was when this "dodgy" vessel imploded & the 5 deaths would has been more or less instantaneous.
There are apparently a lot of undersea currents down there & the heard knocking sounds could be have been caused loose metal in the Titanic itself.
1ozzie - I paid my money to cross the English Channel on a ferry many times and I would have expected the RNLI to come and rescue me had there been a problem. What's the difference?
Some people have strange pleasures but, either way, they are both pleasure trips. I have visited several Nazi concentration camps; does that put me in the same category as the Titanic viewers?
//They paid their money and accepted the risk to view a death site.
Now taxpayers are supposed to pay for their rescue?//
In 2022 45,756 people were "rescued" from the English Channel, having set out on a totally unnecessary voyage in completely unsuitable vessels. The cost of their rescue (and subsequent board & lodging) was met by the taxpayer.
People do all sorts of things for all sorts of reasons.
