Because a majority of them are not patriots and wish to show alliance to a foreign elite whom they would prefer to rule over them (and presumably they approve of that elite being awkward and causing issues for the UK).

As a brexiteer ,I wouldn’t want to see the EU flag flying from any building

"'With over a million people calling London their home from other European countries it's extraordinary that the Government has effectively banned the European flag being flown without going through a long and bureaucratic planning process.". I'd be happy to fly this flag.
It's more amazing the number of flags you apparently don't need specific permission to fly.
Remember I before E unless your foreign.
"The Labour Party is considering extending voting rights to some EU citizens living in the UK if the party wins the next general election.

The party is working on a package of proposals, including votes for some EU nationals and 16 and 17-year-olds in general elections."

Obviously think they will need all of those if they are going to have a snowflake's chance in hell of getting in. They've got to get in first though so not gonna happen.
Goodness only knows. From your link, TTT I wondered if the MSPs continue to fly the European flag over Holyrood.
(Ref BBC article dated 20/01/2020)
Seems they did ;)

// Flags that are exempt from planning permission include the NHS, Commonwealth and United Nations and the Rainbow flag. //

wonder which rainbow flag that refers to - at this time there are probably more versions of the flag than there are letters in the "pride" acronym......
Would you fly the Union Jack, maggiebee, the flag of the United Kingdom, of which Scotland is a part?
Because "UK Independence Day" is not a real thing. It's a made up day.
naomi, your question reminds me of the oft-seen shop sign:
Please do not ask for credit as a refusal often offends. :)
Haaa! Very good, choux. :o)
the UK does not have an independence day
Why would they want to fly the EU flag on any day?
because they like it?
We still deal with EU countries. Not as much as we used to, of course, but……
Why? Just the pretty stars do you think?
// Why would they want to fly the EU flag on any day? //

the same flag represents the Council of Europe, of which the UK remains a member.
Why just on this anniversary, mushroom?
london voted heavily to remain and i would guess the majority of londoners have not changed their minds...
