So Brexit Did Cost Lives
Matt Hancock has admitted as much, giving evidence at the Covid pandemic enquiry today.
Yet another nail in the Brexit coffin.

He is a vengeful miscreant who was caught on camera red handed. He showed no loyalty to his wife and kids so why should you believe anything he says?
er - retro was talking about Hancock I point out, and not Boris - hem hem
As for New Jesuits three or four points to take us forward....
Hancock DID say that they didnt plan for doomsday as there were too busy with Hard brexit
which to my mind is the same as saying - "we took our eye off the Doomsday ball as we were doing Brexit"
This inquiry is to inquire why we did badly at Covid and not spectac well....
we are not in a position to say "we did better than if we had remained." - because those countries who remained ( that is all of them!) did better than ourselves

Looks like it to me.
> It concluded that the UK's plan was not sufficient to "cope with the extreme demands of a severe pandemic"
1) in 2016, the UK's plan was not sufficient to cope with the extreme demands of a severe pandemic. It started to do something about it.
> The Inquiry has seen evidence that only eight of the 22 recommendations made after that exercise had been fully addressed by the time Covid hit with work on the other 14, including to prepare the social care sector, still ongoing.
2) By 2020, 14 of 22 recommendations were not completed. But why ...
> Mr Hancock said that some of that work had been paused because of the need to prepare the country for a no-deal Brexit.”
3) so Brexit was prioritised over pandemic preparation.
Conclusion: If there had been no Brexit, more of those pandemic preparations could have been completed, including preparations for the social care sector where lots of people died during the pandemic.

Itr wasn't just Brexit that got in the way of covid and led to more lifes lost.... these were lots of other things that had to be dealt with... we couldnt stop everything for covid. Goverments still had to manage economies, run NHS and public services, deal with illegal immigrants, continue with inferstructure developments, make laws, manage schools, look after foreign policy.
Actually you could blame those that made brexit difficult and caused more time than necessary piut into it.
What hymie etc means we should of ignored the wishes of the people and dropped it and blame Covid as a excuse to thwart democracy.

It is a fact that Brexit caused a poorer Covid response by the UK government in its preparedness and the implementation of that response – given that Covid is a deadly virus, the conclusion that Brexit resulted additional deaths that could otherwise have been avoided, is correct.
