erm he could very easily have just shared the car's location with the cops... it was his choice to go and arrest them himself. it's quite obvious that this person wanted to be a hero and got a bullet for his trouble.

i would be completely on his side if they had stolen a pet or kidnapped a loved one or something but going all John Wick over a car... come on.
Untitled - I don't believe he wanted to be a 'hero', I believe he wanted to be a vigilante, which is what he is.
Ah, the old degrees of vigilanteism quandary.
I believe he was a bit miffed at being robbed.
yes well being miffed doesn't make it a good idea does it
Naomi - I get miffed all the time, but I don't chase after people with a gun.
That's irrelevant. If he hadn't been robbed it wouldn't have happened. The thief chose the wrong victim.
still his choice to arrest them himself. he could very easily not have done it... they were all but caught anyway.
would you rather

- have your car stolen and then later returned

- the same but you also get shot

i would rather the first one
How were they 'all but caught'?
he was tracking the car
Caught by him then. You're meeting yourself coming back.
ok but once you know where the car is, do you share that with the police and let them get caught anyway or do you seize the chance to grab your gun and play action hero...

i would suggest that the second option did absolutely nothing of value and only got himself injured needlessly
Naomi - Again you are willing to make the thief the author of his own misfortune, and objective analysis agrees with that view.

Bur it remains a fact that the fatality was engineered by the vigilante actions of the motorist, who was lucky not to be shot dead himself through his hot-headed actions.
nobody is disagreeing that this man was victimized.. nobody is disagreeing that he was wrong to shoot back

i do however think it was rather stupid to go up and arrest them himself when he could have simply let the police do it and not gotten himself shot
disagreeing that he was right to shoot back sorry
"...nobody is disagreeing that he was wrong to shoot back"

I am.
untitled, he did share it with the police. He was waiting for the police to arrive when the thief pulled the gun on him.

AH, I am never on the side of low life thieves. If they take their chances they have to take the consequences.
"He was waiting for the police to arrive when the thief pulled the gun on him. "

yeah... i don't have an issue with him calling the police lol. I think that what he did before that was a bit stupid.
sorry douglas that was a typo
