FGS Kay Burley et al, what is the response to burning/beheading 50 your boys? 7000 rockets targetting civilians? Indescriminate massace of men women and children in a festival, a kibbutz? I'll tell you there is no proportion of response, hamas must be wiped out. We must back Israel as we did Ukraine. Un effing believable idiotic questions from Journalists.

//Why Do Journos Keep Asking About The Proportion Of Israels Response?//Some of these reporters/ journalists hold anti semitic attitudes, some of the news outlets that they work for have the same covert agenda. Hamas are renowned for using their own Palestinians as human shields. They use hospitals as command centres, schoollplaygrounds as rocket be launch pads, mosques as ammoo dumps. These despicable terrorist cowards offer up their innocents as sacrificial slaughter.

Hamas are war criminals and must be held to account for civilian casualties in the strip not Israel.

If you know that civilians will be killed when you fire the weapon and decide to do it anyway then does it count as an accident?

no.

the israeli government also sponsored hamas for several years because they wanted them to fight other palestinian organisations... they therefore share in the responsibility for the atrocities committed by hamas

untitled: "i have not heard any israeli official claim that civilians are killed by accident... usually they describe them as collateral damage" - Collateral damage means by accident.

Question Author

16:18, seldom have I heard such twisted cock eyed logic.

collateral does not mean accidental, it literally means "together with"... if you know it's going to happen before you do it and you do it anyway then it is not an accident. israeli officials have said publicly that civilian casualties are the price of waging war... which is exactly the same attitude that hamas takes disguised in different wording. the only difference between them is that hamas uses guns knives and rockets while the IDF uses air strikes.

as for "cock eyed".... it is a fact that the government of israel supported the creation of hamas for political reasons. hamas was just as violent in its intentions then as it is now... but when their violence was directed at other palestinians the IDF was fine with it.. you cannot facilitate terrorists and then wash your hands of responsibility when they commit acts of terror

There are always victims of war.  It's unavoidable.

it is never acceptable to intentionally kill civilians.

Tell that to Hamas.  Not only have they brought this upon their own people, they are taking and killing hostages and slaughtering Israelis in the most brutal fashion imaginable, including chopping heads off babies!   This constant irrational hand-wringing from you is pathetic.  Hamas are the aggressors here.

"never " would include the atrocities hamas, whose creation was facilitated by the israeli government.

the two sides are both terrorist institutions.

what is the moral difference between a baby being murdered by hamas and a baby who is crushed to death by a building which the IDF destroys? is the death of the second baby really acceptable "self defence" in exchange for the first one? if your enemy kills and mutilates a child are you then entitled to go and kill a bunch of other children to "teach them a lesson"? what kind of sense does that make?

That's a pointless argument.  We are where we are.  Hamas has attacked Israel, they are behaving in an unthinkably brutal and barbaric manner, and Israel is responding in the only way it can.  Anything less means capitulation - and that, thankfully, just isn't going to happen.

you are talking about revenge, not self defence. israel is not being made safer by these airstrikes, just like it wasn't in 2014 or the time before that.

No I am not talking about revenge.  Again that's something you've invented.

"Collateral damage means by accident."

I believe it means someone or something that falls victim to a given act, sometimes unintentionally.

Slightly different to 'by accident'.

Of course it's revenge, the Israelis are rightly outraged and can easily win the eye for an eye kind of conflict.

The problems really start when the killing stops and they ask to remain in the company of civilised nations.

It's not revenge.  It's self-preservation.

Is cutting off power, food and water not collective punishment and revenge?

committing genocidal acts is not a legitimate means of self preservation

how do all of these horrifying air strikes on gaza make israel any safer?

No.

The hawks are flying tonight.
