He's bang on, almost no one speaks Welsh not even the Welsh yet they waste huge resources trying to teach kids something they will never need and having signs x 2 for everthing. Let’s get the myth out of the way now. “Popty ping” is not the Welsh term for the microwave oven, sorry. A literal translation would be “the oven that goes ping”, which, while being very Pythonesque, and incredibly funny, isn’t actually true. The Welsh word for microwave is “meicrodon” – “meicro” being Welsh for micro, and “don”, the mutated word for ton (tohn), literally means wave. And “ffwrn” just means oven. I know. Dull, isn’t it?'
Why would anyone waste time with a language that even most of the indigenous population don't speak? Pointless. Watch S4C one day, they don't even have words for a lot of things so they use English ones and make them sound a bit Welsh. It's a waste of brain space to make kids learn something they'll never use when they could be using that space for something they might well use.
