The difficulty for any and all news organisations covering the horrific events in Gaza, is find accurate information.
Both sides have a considerable advantage, and long history, in colourful but not necessarily accurate reports of attrocities committed by the other side.
This propaganda war is every bit as fiercely fought as the physical combat - both sides keen to present themselves to the wider world as the noble victims of the other.
That means that accurate reporting from any source other than actual physical sight, is frought with difficulty, and the BBC, like any reputable news body, must be scrupulous in its reporting, and remove any information that it cannot reasonably believe to be be true.
That applies to any news media, and the BBC should not be accused of bias for its actions on this occasion.
As for its refusal to refer to Hamas as 'terrorists', the BBC argues that impartiality prevents it from using a specific adjective, with added connotations, and is currently maintaining its position of referring to Hamas as 'insurgents' which, the BBC believes, accurately describes its current status.
