an israeli airstrike is confirmed to have hit an orthodox christian church where hundreds of palestinian christians were taking shelter including elderly people women and children... 16 fatalities are so far confirmed but clearing of the rubble has only just begun
israel claims that a hamas command centre was "nearby"
how can this be a justifiable means of self-defence?

yes it does - "take a nursery and creche was inadvertnetly hit by missiles and bombs killing god knowes how many under fives - however it is widely acknowledged by those Who Know, that there a death an destruction command centre underneath" - used for at least twenty years.
May I ask if its acceptable to accuse people of condoning beheading babies on multiple occasions. I have reported before weekend but obviously mods and eds think it's OK. And I would also confirm that Untitled like myself has said on several occasions that he doesn't support Hamas.
I posted this in News because its relevant to this section.
Thought you were avoiding news? Odd way of gong about it.
Untitled, as usual thinking he is some sort of political pundit, comes over as Hamas supporting, in the same way he comes over as a Commie but claims not to be.
Untitled, you really do need to be crytal clear on points and stick with them rather than going round in constant rediculous cirlces which appears to lead poeople to the wrong conclusion about you.
Remember, people can only judge you on what you write.
Still staying away from the subject
I agree with you all ! - here we have a thread on self defence, and the last five or so posts are all about evil nasty deluded ( anything else) PP ( moi).
Thirty or Forty years ago, an ambulance was machine gunned with predictable results for those inside - and the IDF sneaked out a warning that ambulances were being used to transport....
The ( israeli) magazine reporting this was driven out of business (oops) -
But hey ya really all knew that huh ?
and for retro - I have included a bit about the Palestinian Police elsewhere that he had no idea about - (er 1945-8).
and what about this?
Cork - 1917 ( er which I agree is not in Israel and was not in Mandated palestinr nor er the Ottoman empire) Corkaigh ambulances were attacked by the gallant IRA freedom fighter ( and IRB and.... god knows whom) on the grounds they were ferryinng around british troops.
They were.
have fun boys and girls
god I get deleted ( no dont! dont! free speech and all that) if I say someone is ignorant and bigotted
erm even if they are ! - ( a fortiori - more so if that is true).
um... a little self defence goes a long way, and a lot of self defence leads to a flattened country side with many civilian dead all blameworthy. I agree with Naomi on this
Does that help?
//and for retro - I have included a bit about the Palestinian Police elsewhere that he had no idea about - (er 1945-8).//
You needn't of bothered thank you. Many of my instructors at both Hendon College and driving school were demobbed after the 2nd WW and joined the Palestine Police Force. When that folded they joined various UK civilian Police Forces. My father, when seconded to Cyprus was initially made a member of the Colonial Police Force which was later part of the leftovers from Palestine. He then became a Police Sergeant in the Cyprus Police Force and then became an honorary member of 45 Royal Marine Commando before returning to the Met. By my estimation he should be entitled to at least five pensions.
erm not sure about continuity of pension cont in 1950 - non contributory at that time certainly - employee cont 0%
Yes yes - until 1964 ( I dont bovva to check my 'facts now; on AB as so much of AB is bullocks (cow muck) anyway) - the police were employess of the Home Secretary- and so continuity should be ensured. when you changed forces. No case law. There were ministries for this, you know
