I'd say it's more a case of Hamas saying "anything the Russians can do ..."

They also dropped two one thousand pound bombs on the village of Berislav in Kherson region last night, because they had no other targets. 18 months after deliberately killing thousands by carpet bombing Mariupol.

Ich, a journalist I read earlier today observed that most news outlets seem to be incapable of reporting on two main stories at the same time.  It seems he's right.

Handy for him - but in fairness, and not to undermine the seriousness of the Ukraine situation, I think Palestine more volatile.

Yes Palestine certainly excites large parts of the world into frenzy.

And encourages normally sensible people to make eejits of themselves.

Of course looking at the situation there as a whole it's not as clear cut as Russia-Ukraine. But the grisly events of Oct 7 changed everything.

Children are being murdered in cold blood still. Comparing evils achieves nothing and helps no-one. The more the world focuses on Gaza, the more Putin will take advantage of that. We can't afford to take our eye off the ball with Mad Vlad.
