I'm old, not elderly, and I would rather it was me that died instead of my grandchildren or anybody else's or any younger people. I don't believe I'm the only old person that thinks that either.

You are not the only one LB.  To be honest, it was daft that Boris vocalised his thoughts, but his words were true.  I don't want to be kept alive past my use by date.  Unfortunately that's what happens these days.

Well these old people told their families very firmly that they did not wish everyone to go into lockdown to 'save' them.  I believe my words were 'We're good at staying alive, we've had a lot pf practice at it'.

All we wished for was an opportunity  to  go about life  with a bit of an allowance on spacing from others and perhaps some 'quiet hours' in supermarkets etc..  We knew that the economy would crash (hurting us more with inflation) and that the damage on children would be incalculable.  It seems to have changed society completely.

Boris was correct -if phrased unfortunately - but we will never forgive any politicians who favoured lockdowns.
