Scumbags, the lot of them.

> You're being disingenuous, ellipsis.  You watch the news and see reports from other media outlets just as we all do.

I do, and I haven't seen any that says that the demonstration is to support Hamas.

I am concerned that a good cause that is supported by a lot of people, could be polluted by a bad cause that is supported by a few people - and that is the risk of that demonstration at that time and at that place.  I am concerned about that - I think it could go badly wrong.  I certainly won't be going!  But the demonstration itself is to support the plight of innocent people, not Hamas.

Given what was perpetrated upon innocent people in Israel by Hamas, Israel does have the right to respond.  But that doesn't mean they can do what they like and everybody else would agree with it.  The lowest estimate I have heard of the number of children and babies being killed by munitions that were fired by Israel since 7 October is 2000.  2000 dead children and babies - picture that.  Of course some people are demonstrating, because it didn't have to be like that. And it's still ongoing in the same way ...

As I said, ellipsis, hang onto your head.

The left wing rabble hae been intent on denegrating or disrespecting Remembrance Sunday for decades. Benn and his donkey jacket was just an indicator. This latest stunt, driven by the left wing and the anti Britain hate preachers, is nothing compared to what is liable to happen if Labour ever gain power and officialy endorse the terrorist moements that seek to oerwhelm our way of life. Did you notice the latest display of duplicity and disrespect from Starmer yesterday? He was wearing a poppy, one of the latest plastic free jobbies, during a speech on the Middle East crisis, but remoer it when filming a video to mark islamophobia month. Labour sources refuse to say why it was removed, but insist that it was not removed specifically and was absolutely not a deliberate decision. Liars!

Togo, it wasn't Benn that wore the infamous donkey jacket, it was Michael Foot

Foot didn't wear a donkey jacket to the ceremony.

damn, I am an also ran - I thought it was Foot

Some damned leftie wore a darned suit to one - Wilson I think - pocket darned I recollect

Perhaps Starmer will put his poppy back on when he makes his Chritianophobia awareness video.

It was, so! - to mimic one of the mmore irritating Abers

Former British Labour Party leader Michael Foot was criticised for wearing what was described incorrectly as a "donkey jacket" at a Remembrance Day wreath laying ceremony and he was shown wearing one on several covers of the satirical magazine Private Eye, and mentioned in Jeffrey Archer's best selling novel, "This Was ...

the correction was not  - it was a dark felted material warm and waterproof often mistaken.....

If you ask me, the "denigration" of such ceremonies is more likely caused by people drawing attention - wrongly - in the case of Michael Foot of course to what is perceived as a stepping out of line. The nonsense about the non-wearing of poppies is another case in point.

I reckon he was asked to remove it, after he explained that it was part of the iniquely British cult of the dead

French and Belgians for whom we fought, dont do the wandering over battlefields crying and weeping. anyone doing that is a Brit apparently ( selon les francais)

eek o god writing French is a slam-dunk for deletion

Michael Foot has long been vilified for wearing a 'donkey jacket', which was deliberate denigration by the Press at the time.

It was an expensive car coat - the fashion then - bought from Harrods.

Foot shopped in Arrods? right oh!

There's scuffles going on now between the police and Palestinian protesters in Trafalgar square.  Scroll down to the "Live" link if you can be bothered.

TTT - No, Mr Foot didn't, his wife bought it, and all his clothes.

This is in News, about Palestinians and Remembrance Day so why are you discussing flipping Jackets???  Actually don't bother telling me.

I thought it must be an expensive alternative ( Harrods)

but was THAT the one he was wearing? hmm. gets a bit like Diana.

Joins "white hear of the techonologial revolution" Harold Wilson, and Crisis what crisis - Callaghan

and probably, cripes I am telling the truth  ( BoJo)

disrespect dahling but I will tell you anyway

Footie was disrespecting the dead by slumming it up

and they say the protest over the week end will disespect those honouring the dead ( but not the dead themselves)

and pliz pliz missy dont ask a question, and then say you dont care for the answer - stoopid even for AB !

If these pro Palestinian/Hamas /Terrorist sympathisers do attack the cenotaph or disrupt the 2 minute silence on our National Day of Rememberance and Thanks to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice from the UK and Commonwealth then you better get your copies of the Huran tomorrow folks because bonfires won't be only on 5th November. Our right wing fanatics have as much respect for books as those who daub slogans on our National monuments. The doo dah will cerainly hit the fan then.  :-(
