If Hamas is the bell, then Israel should not be the slavering dog, unable to control itself. It had choices, and it still has choices. With its approach, Israel chooses to kill these babies.

hamas lover are missing a point, gaza is a built semi city, so its block by block to eradicate the parasite hamas, civilians will die, they were told to leave! if they are still there, it's hamas who are keeping them there, or if it's choice, then you agree with them and are cannon fodder for the news, id give them all another 24 hrs, then id carpet bomb the whole place till its literally flat and not even rats could survive.

How is it to be achieved? Better than it is now. Your premise is doing the best that it could possibly be ... everything is as best as it could be, and no better. It could be better. For example, as the USA says: avoid further mass displacement of Palestinians and damage to critical infrastructure, like hospitals, power stations and water facilities.
