The gowns Mone’s husband’s company supplied are medical products such that they are legally required to be CE marked along with the number assigned to the Notified Body who approved the product – my mate Phil claimed that no Notified Body number was marked on the gowns, and hence they were not fit for purpose, and binned.

 

Had the BBC researchers listened to my mate Phil, they could have asked Mone’s husband to confirm who the Notified Body was - used to approve the supplied gowns.

 

My mate Phil also claimed that the Notified Body on the paperwork for the supplied gowns had denied any involvement in their approval – so who do you believe, the Notified Body or a pair of self confessed liars?

Sorry TTT it is not what I would have do at all. And its looking very much like they won't be able to either. They provied a product that was not fit for perpose along with making 60 million out of it. When that amount of money is involve in a scam, as Gully says they should be jailed.

If ellipsis is right, and I'm sure he is but I haven't checked, when he says There is a National Crime Agency investigation (criminal)  then why not wait for that to finish rather than  speculation and innuendo which doesn't help.

So the question must arise: if this stuff was so clearly unfit for purpose, why didn't the Contract Supervisor (or whatever they call such a person in the NHS) notice those shortcomings when the first consignment arrived? And if the deficiency was noticed, why didn't the CS ask the question about the Notified Body? After all, if your mate Phil knew of the requirement, surely somebody supervising a large and valuable contract for the supply of such goods should have been aware of it. And why was payment made for goods which so clearly did not meet the requirements? OR.....

Were the requirments not sufficiently described when the contract was let, and were the goods not checked for compliance when they began to arrive?

Of course an even bigger question is why was the NHS not properly prepared, with these goods either in stock or procured for delivery as required, as part of the plan that the NHS should have had in place to cope with a pandemic? And before you say that is because [Tory] politicians were negligent, it isn't the right answer. Politicians do not have day to day management responsibilities for the NHS. That is the job of NHS managers, of whom there are more than enough to ensure it is prepared for emergencies.

The plain fact is that they failed to manage their business properly and wailed when the solids hit the air conditioning. It may be prudent if they are asked what checks they made to ensure that the goods Baroness Mone secured to compensate for their ineptitude. But I doubt they will be.

14.12. I agree NJ. Who was responsible for checking these goods before and after delivery. Who knows? they may even play a part in the whole scam. At this moment in time the focus is on Mr Big and his dear wife. Who knows what will follow?
