Despite what some believe there are still issues following Brexit for us in NI.

We still do not have the range of goods in supermarkets that we had previously in particular cat and dog food.

Very few seed or plant companies will deliver to NI and there are issues trying to get stuff from Amazon like batteries/ battery packs and booze.

I have lost count how many times I have gone into to do orders only to discover they don't deliver to NI.

I know that probrexit members will now be going onto Amazon and seed companies to prove me wrong but I live with this every day.

I appreciate that there is a lot of fake news out there and this is not an opening for some of AB members to go on and say I told you so - I am giving you some facts. Tis all.

Rude or abusive posts will be removed either by me or by someone else.  This is not Chatterbank - it's the News section.  Please stick to the subject matter.

since the majority of NI's population voted to remain, surely the answer to these problems lies in voting for being ceded to the republic?

(cue speechless-with-rage splutterings from Ian Paisley's grave....)

I came back to say what mushroom said but he/she beat me to it. Well said M! You know it makes sense.

mushroom and dave please stick to the OP as requested by Naomi

........Stand  by your Beds....

That's an interesting suggestion, mushroom.  Given a referendum, does anyone think the disgruntled people of Northern Ireland - the majority of whom I believe voted 'Remain' - would go for it?  It would certainly resolve this on-going problem for them.

I'm sure the cats and dogs of NI are suitably devastated & ruing the result of the Brexit vote.

Well Dave - thank you for your sarcasm and Naomi thank you for allowing the changing of the OP against your previous rulings

> since the majority of NI's population voted to remain, surely the answer to these problems lies in voting for being ceded to the republic

We have a last minute entrant for the Biggest Non Sequitur of 2023 Competition ...

Redhelen, Musroom suggested a possible way to resolve the issue.  That does relate to the OP.

all you are doing is allowing the dislike of NI to be brought into a conversation that did not need it!

Being truthful Red.  We have found that certain flabours of a imal foods have disappeared off the market and animal food prices have risen more teeply than our food. Mr L is in charge of getting it and is always moaning.  Whether it's Brexit related or not I can't comment on.

Why is Gulliver always allowed to remain?

You're suggesting that the solution for better choice of cat food is to "cede" Northern Ireland to the Republic. You know what "cede" means? You know the history of Northern Ireland? Then you know how ridiculous or insulting this suggestion is.

Redhelen, I see no dislike for Northern Ireland.

Question Author

OK Naomi.

Ellipsis, Mushroom suggested a vote be held - I assume he meant in Northern Ireland.
