Well, in this case ... booting out the incumbent party if they've outstayed their welcome, almost irrespective of what the alternative is. Like Labour in 1979 (after only one term, but what a term) and 2010 (after three terms), and the Tories in 1997 (after four terms) and, it would seem, 2024 (also after four terms) ... it's enough. They've run their race and need some time in opposition for them, and us poor plebs, to recover.
As I said before, the Hard Right are panicking, so they have mounted the Smear the Opposition campaign because they know they can't win on their record.
Their only positive is that Keir is such a useless leader (that's a genuine opinion, not a smear).
I've said it before, where are the giants of yesteryear (on both sides) ? UK politics in a very sad state this century.
the most talented person doesn't always end up with the top job sadly naomi... look at liz truss.
but labour have some very good candidates and some people in the party who i would much rather see in charge of things than the tories... there are at present no good tories as far as i am concerned and i suspect i am far from alone
