The Post Office Horizon Enquiry

Former POL director Angela van den Bogerd has been questioned by the enquiry's KC over the last day and a half, with counsel for various sub-postmaster/mistress groups grilling her this afternoon.

Repeatedly she has said she doesn't remember or denied involvement in key events or was only aware of the issues with the IT system much later.

A high court judge accused her of lying in court in 2019. At the enquiry, counsel for the sub-postmasters asked her if this had been investigated by the Post Office or whether she had been disciplined. No. But she did get her bonus.

She is doing what all senior management have done, from her to slippery Ed the Liberal.  My memory is hazy, I cannot recall, that was not in my brief, I was misled, I was only on the  fringe etc etc etc. Makes me sick.

Thanks for posting this - rather than the usual guff AB trumpets proudly

I found it compulsive viewing - for the whole week - two to three hours a day. 

I note a few one word posts " yeah" and twit

There is a satiric sketch in the Times which mentions Men in Black zapping the senior and important executives with a neurolyser thingey

There has been an incredz effort to go thro the papers ( costing £100m) - and her  thesis that  she  only  suspected and by no means proved by 2013

was combatted by  the comment - "oh I dont remember  that" for  the suspicions of 2004

But there ARE no papers  saying "oo-er we are for the highjump" - sotheir point that no one was aware IS defensible.

We have covered the 'shredding order' - "dont put it on paper" BUT there are emails that say " Gareth Jones has told them ( Second Sight) that remote access is possible and  he  didnt  tell us at the post office ! " - or  Gareth also swore in court  that  it was not possible. oops - Judge  not amused.

Poor Boggy got a good kicking from Bulldog Henry " you say with all these clues 2000-14 that system bugs cd change reccords, you only got  the  message in 2014?"

Boggy for it is she: yes aye that  is the case  ( she cd never  say 'yes' or 'no')

The highly paid lawyer - who gets MUCH MORE than Boggy did to lie to us all and deceive us " are you lying or grossly incompetent?"

the world turns on - I was quie surprised to see this thread has survived - but hey miracles ( some very leedol) happen every day

erm a lot wasnt satirical - but verbatim as far as I  can remember - when I watching it wivva fren', there was a lot of "did you hear what she just said?"

Over 2nd sight - she was very very concerned to help them ( eek!) and henry turned up a paper which talked about " this will ease the exit of 2nd dight"  - ( god did you just hear that?) and she was unphased. 

The   time line jumps around a lot - 2006 one minute and 2014 the next - and no one ever says " because one man whispers it (there may be remote access) doesnt  mean it is true and proven and we take it as gospel. It was unthinkable and Fuji were denying it"

They put a new software system in place and suddenly hundreds of SPMs were criminals that weren't criminal before, and nobody thought to themselves "Hang on, could it be the new software?" It is not credible. They are all corrupt. I would like to know how many SPMs were prosecuted per year before Horizon, and after Horizon.

09:12, not just corrupt, they must be total sociopaths to drive people to suicide, get people jailed to BS all of them that they were the only one and to do it all knowing they were innocent. Unbelievable evil and the gaffer was a Lay preacher! christian my April. I hope they sling the lot of them in jail.

drmorgans - your other threads were removed because the titles were not considered "satirical" in any way, but seriously misleading with regard to mental health issues.  Anyone searching for those words could have been misdirected at a time when they genuinely needed help.

I think Van De Bogerd and others in charge of the Post Office were more incompetent than corrupt and then would not take any responsibility. They should be nowhere near managing a big corporation.

An organisation staffed by an army of previously trustworthy people who now, all at once, suddenly have their hands in the till - and no one has the sense or the wherewithal to ask the very obvious question -  'Why?'

Don't forget - the forensic accounting firm, Second Sight, was hired and then fired once they raised alarm bells. The Post Office leadership team knew what they were doing.

because the standard view ( along with Horizon is perfect) is that they always had their hands in the till, and Horizon showed it all up ! 

The investigation team ( Liar Bradshaw - one of many and John Scott) morphed into loss-recovery team,and no one seemed to notice - but they were set targets for recovery. 

Altho Liar Bradshaw insisted he did NOT say in the canteen "we know you didnt steal  it, but we have to recover it." he insists he did NOT - I was listening to van Boggie and thought that their passing contact with the Truth makes this more likely.
