Bbc Admits Hamas ‘Civilian’ Death Reporting Was Inaccurate
//The BBC has admitted that its reporting of “civilian” casualties in Gaza was inaccurate and its figure also included the deaths of Hamas fighters.//

When information is fed to the media by Hamas-run organisations one would hope that doubt exists - but in the case of the BBC, apparently not.

many of the corpses in khan younis were simply dropped in and had their hands tied behind their backs. it isn't true to say that they were all draped. the same was true of the mass grave in beit lahiya... those bodies were not draped and some of them were tied up.
some in another grave site were also patients who died at the hospital due to conditions inflicted by israel (no electricity, no water, food scarcity, no medical supplies) and were buried by hospital staff after they either starved or died from their injuries.
From 28 Feb, "Journalists call for foreign media access to Gaza in open letter":

Perhaps if the BBC and others had "free and unfettered access to Gaza for all foreign media", then the inaccuracies would be fewer in number. As it is, the BBC is not allowed into Gaza and has to rely on third parties like this American doctor who was on the BBC news last night:

As a result of what you have written above, can you categorically deny the reports that Hamas had stored millions of litres of diesel, food, water and medecines in their vast tunnel networks for their own use. The diesel was used to provide their own generators to pump air and water through the network it has been reported. Rockets fired by Hamas were manufactured from new water irrigation piping supplied by the UK and EU. You will confirm this is all lies will you?
"how do you know who's responsible?"
i haven't said that i did... but you posted something inaccurate and i wished to respond.
"can you categorically deny the reports that Hamas had stored millions of litres of diesel, food, water and medecines in their vast tunnel networks for their own use."
i have not denied them no. what is your point?
> When information is fed to the media by Hamas-run organisations one would hope that doubt exists - but in the case of the BBC, apparently not.
>> If you want the media to do a better job, then let them give free and unfettered access to Gaza.
> It's not my call, ellipsis.
It may not be your call, but do you agree or disagree with free and unfettered access for the BBC to report on Gaza?
Because it would be a bit rich to complain that "information is fed to the media", if at the same you agreed with the BBC not to be allowed in to see for themselves what's going on.
