//Greta Thunberg accuses Israel of ‘artwashing’ reputation through Eurovision//
Not content with driving her own bandwagon, she's now jumped on another. Is 'artwashing' some form of Newspeak? I've never heard of it.

Haha. Mockery is the most effective criticism is it not.
so she has according to her : From her first moments in the spotlight, Greta has been open about her autism (she uses the term Asperger's syndrome), obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), and selective mutism. Greta has spoken about her diagnosis saying it makes her “different” but that she considers it a “superpower”: erm super nice get out of jail free card, also explains her lack of education somewhat...
"Russia is banned from Eurovision"
Technically incorrect: Russia disqualified itself from Eurovision by withdrawing from the EBU. Although they'd have been kicked out in 2022 anyway.
Whatever you think of the Gaza war there is in any case no comparison between Russia and Israel.
As for GT: very disappointing.
Ellipsis my point is that Russia is technically not banned from the contest: so it's a bit mischievous to imply favouritism towards Israel. I'm as appalled as anyone by the loss of innocent Palestinian lives but the fact is that Israel is doing what Russia "claims" (falsely) to be doing in Ukraine: ie rooting out a terrorist threat to it and indeed the region. My simplistic view simply is that Russia's crimes are so egregious that it has no place in the civilised community of European states be it for trade, sport, singing or whatever. Eurovision has rightly pulled Israel up for overtly politicising its entry and Israel has complied. And as far as I am concerned at least they have done was reasonably expected of them. Meanwhile Thunberg and Co are at liberty to protest: provided its done in a non-threatening manner.
