Is he more of a swivel eyed than say Jeremy Corbyn?

Loon

-- answer removed --

Isn't the phrase, 'swivel-eyed loon', unfair to the quite attractive duck of that name?

I've always thought of him as frog eyed, but that's equally disrespectful to frogs.

"Have you seen his pronouncement on Trump’s 34 felony count conviction?"

All that demonstrates is that he happens to have a different opinion to you.

I haven't seen his full pronouncement. I only know he has branded the verdict as "a disgrace". I don't follow US politics in any great detail for the same reason that I wouldn't follow a serialisation of Grimm's Fairy Tales, so I don't know the full details of Mr Trump's trial and conviction.

However I do suspect there are "dark forces" at work in US politics (and to a lesser degree here in the UK) where bodies of unelected people set to work whenever a democratic decision is taken that they are none too keen on.

That said, I'm quite prepared to accept that there are people with opinions different to mine without resorting to insults.

NJ. "However I do suspect there are "dark forces" at work in US politics (and to a lesser degree here in the UK) where bodies of unelected people set to work whenever a democratic decision is taken that they are none too keen on."

I agree, and Trump and his supporters are the current blatant demonstration of that.

Besides saying that the whole thing (Trump’s conviction) was a disgrace; Farage also thinks that the Biden administration has massively overplayed their hand (when they had nothing to do with Trump’s prosecution).

He said that fair-minded Americans will think this result is not showing the USA in a very good light (Farage clearly thinks fair-minded Americans believe the US justice system should not prosecute criminals such as Trump).

He also said it was probably the biggest electoral boost he (Trump) could ever have had (oh yes, let’s elect a convicted criminal to the White House).

Farage also said that he believes that the world will be a much safer place with Trump in the White House – someone who has announced he would not support Ukraine (against Russia) and would not come to the aid of another NATO country.

Farage is clearly as demented as Trump, by his own words.

I gave you my reason for not following US politics too closely and you seem to have confirmed that I am on the right lines.

However, all of what you quote is simply Mr Farage's opinion. You may not agree with it and I doubt he agrees with yours. So why is he a "swivel-eyed loon" and you are not? Why does your opinion trump (no pun intended) his to such a degree that it attracts such opprobrium from you? Can't you simply hold a different opinion without the insults?

It's the same when you discuss Brexit. All 17m people who voted for Brexit are, according to you, "stupid" whereas you and the other 16m who voted to remain are not. Whilst that's very unlikely to be true (I expect there are intelligent people and stupid people in both camps), all they did is answered a question, asked by the government, differently to you.

Can you see what I'm getting at or am I wasting my time?

@13.58.The"Illuminati",Atheist.Not often i agree with you but this time im on your side.

Farage will be standing in Clacton and is to become the new Reform leader.

If someone’s opinion is that the world is flat, that the moon landing was faked, or that Elvis is alive and well (serving down my local chip shop), then it is quite reasonable (IMHO) that people (including myself) call them out for believing in such nonsense.

You appear to be a person believing in Farage’s nonsense; that the world will be a safer place if Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was successful, and that the USA would not honour the commitment to aid a fellow NATO country.

The mad people in America (and Farage) think Trump is innocent – they are wrong, and we should do all in our power to stop such false truths being spread over the internet (including this site).

Thats the"Illuminati"for you Hymie. Some say that Biden,Trump,Putin,Xi are the new leaders of this movement.

The most obvious Loon on this post is the original poster.

Know it all, think you know it all, spot the difference?

Insulting those that differ in opinions to your great infallible self is set firmly in the domain of the leftist swivelled brigade.

Hymie, you sound as if you've lost the plot.  Utterly paranoid.

Question Author

Oh well, it look like I’m wrong about the world being flat, the moon landing faked, and Elvis is alive and well.

But we still love you Hymie:-)

Trump’s Lawyer (Michael Cohen) must be kicking himself having pled guilty to his involvement in Trump's criminal conspiracy (and served jail time for it) – when there was no such conspiracy.

Nah,we dont David.Hymie is a out and out racist.He/she will never attack a white politician if he/she cant attack a BAME politician first.

“If someone’s opinion is that the world is flat, that the moon landing was faked, or that Elvis is alive and well (serving down my local chip shop), then it is quite reasonable”

They are all matters of fact which can be easily shown to be false. But even so, anybody believing such things as fact does not deserve to be insulted in the way you do. They may be a little usual, perhaps a little strange. But a “swivel-eyed loon”? I was brought up not to insult people so readily simply because I might not agree with them.

But none of the stuff you posted about Mr Farage are matters of fact. They are his opinion.

“You appear to be a person believing in Farage’s nonsense;”

I've said nohing to give you that opinion. I neither believe it nor disbelieve it. I have no real opinion of it because I don't know the detail of Mr Trump's case. As you may have gathered from reading our exchanges on Brexit, I rarely take any notice of what politicians tell me (and Mr Farage is still, in my view a politician, especially as he just announced he will lead the Reform Party). And as I’ve also said, I take little or no notice of US politics. It isn’t what he’s said that concerns me. It’s your consistent insults against anybody who does not agree with you.

“The mad people in America (and Farage) think Trump is innocent – they are wrong, and we should do all in our power to stop such false truths being spread over the internet (including this site).”

He’s been found guilty by due process. But that doesn’t stop people believing the verdict was incorrect. It happens all the time in courts all over the world – even in the UK, believe it or not. Are you now attempting to shut that down as well? Would you, for example, call the supporters of this gentleman “swivel-eyed loons” and suggest their “false truths” be silenced:

https://news.sky.com/story/andrew-malkinson-man-who-spent-17-years-in-jail-for-crime-he-did-not-commit-wins-further-grounds-to-clear-his-name-12935579#:~:text=Andrew%20Malkinson%2C%2057%2C%20was%20found,because%20he%20maintained%20his%20innocence.

What we need to do with all our power is to prevent this attempted silencing of anybody who holds an opinion that is not considered “on message”. It is an extremely dangerous development. “Swivel-eyed loons” can be routed out by rational and polite argument. They should not be silenced.

@17.08.Not that i have any regard for you or you for me,but that was an excellent riposte to Hymies ramblings,NJ.
