he is going to raise CGT regardless of what he says... he isn't telling the truth.

there'll be some world-class spin after he's elected in the same way we saw after 2010. "Oh we didn't realise how bad it was, there's no money etc etc so regrettably we must now put up taxes which we said we wouldn't"

i agree with CGT going up but he must inform the electorate. he is duplicitous.

19:51 never expected such child like naivety from you me old china. No amount of money will improve anything. What we need is better efficiency and a much smaller state apparatus. Abolish direct tax completely wack it all on indirect duty. Motoring is far too cheap for a start, double fuel duty, double booze, smokes etc. We'd save billions on the Inland revenue.

I hear mutterings that Labour intends to roll the ULEZ scheme out nationwide - and charge drivers per mile.  That'll bring more than a few bob in!  Starmer says he's not going to hit the working man'.  Now we know why.  His wonky idea of 'the working man' probably can't afford to buy or run a car.

erm where did you hear that naomi? i am no fan of starmer but it sounda like rubbish to me

Not sure about the ULEZ nationwide but a charge by mile is a distinct possibility. Makes more sense than VED and with electric cars currently not paying their share of VED. Cam and Osborne where looking at that years ago.

Demonstrates the sheer idiocy of messed about with the road fund licence and letting some get discounts while others given freetard status. Standard for politicians these days.

I know what you mean about the road tax OG.  My son has a Focus and I have a C Max which is basically the same car.  His is a few years older than mine but he pays £20 a year tax while I pay £190.  Same engine too.  Would have thought newer car would be cleaner to run.

Politiciians don't have a soddin clue - how is it we let them run the country eh?

Naomi 11.21 Where did you get that from ? or are you talking Tory wiff waff again.

Do you think then that naomi should substantiate that claim then gulliver.  If so then maybe you should do the same with all the things you post that when asked to substantiate them you ignore.  If it's good enough for one it should be good enough for everyone.

//Labour has repeatedly refused to rule out raising the petrol levy and failed to match the Tories' manifesto pledge not to introduce pay-per-mile road pricing schemes.//

Here you are, gulliver.

//Keir Starmer in 'stealth' move for a nationwide ULEZ

Motorists will be clobbered with pay-per-mile Road Tax under Labour, Mark Harper has warned.//

As you say - that's the way to do it.  Time you had the courtesy to back up the rubbish you post.

"Mark Harper warned that bringing in a nationwide Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) would hammer families."

Mark Harper? Ooh i wonder who that is...

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Harper

fancy that! a tory MP! and one whose seat is threatened by Labour!

colour me surprised ;)

So what, untitled?  You surely wouldn't expect a Labour MP to come clean about plans that will hit people hard, would you?   You keep listening to them telling you how they're not going to raise taxes for the 'working man' - according to Keir Starmer, he's the bloke who's on his uppers with no money in the bank - and then wait and see.  All the money they're going to spend has to come from somewhere - and who better to screw than the good old motorist who has no choice but to cough up.

well Mark Harper does have a bit of an incentive to lie naomi. you said you had "heard rumblings" of something and it turns out to have come straight from the mouth of a tory MP.

TSM 09.35 I must have picked up a little Tory blood somewhere  along the line....you know what I mean....sort of one law for me  ,and another for everyone else😎lol.

untitled, wait and see.

I take that then gulliver that you will carry on by  not substantiating any post you put on but complaining if someone else doesn't do it.

^^^yep, that seems to be the long and the short of it.
