Masca is a very small place in a large, rugged,  terrain.

It is sad but maybe better for his family that it looks like he fell while alone and probably under the influence rather than all the stories about possible county lines, drug gangs, murder etc that have been bandied about.

Some of the theories have been bizarre, including a family relationship with Karen Matthews and a plot hide him for GoFundMe money; kidnapped and held to ransom; murdered by drug lords or in retaliation by his machette attack victim; smuggled out to sea and living the high life...

Simple explanation is usually the right one - occam's razor.

Over the years, I have dealt with a number of cases where people have just gone missing with the family never knowing what happened to their loved one.  For the family it is excrutiating, the not knowing.  Even after the family have a declaration under the Presumption of Deaths Act, they still do not really know because there is not that finality.  One person told me that whilst in their heart of hearts they thought their relative had died, they would see someone with a similar gait in the street, or hear a similar voice and would have to double check.  At least one family may now be able to lay someone to rest.

In fairness, in this sort of situation, folk can always ask, "did he fall, or was he pushed ?", which keeps the conspiracies alive. Hopefully it is the tragic accident it appears, but we don't know why he left his 2 pals and wandered there at that time of day.

Apparently, according to Yahoo News anyway, even more donations have flooded in to the GoFundMe pot. Some of the money has been used to fly in a specialist search team from the Netherlands.

OG, he didn't leave his two pals.  His two pals went back to their apartment around 8pm but he chose to stay at the rave.
