Untitled, //did you notice much outrage from your vantage point in... er... germany? 🤣//

Yes, This is from Deutsche Welle a respected news source. There's also reports in the French press.

I think you need to get your head out of the sand.

https://www.dw.com/en/britain-to-hand-sovereignty-of-chagos-islands-to-mauritius/a-70396773

and what evidence is there of "national outrage" in that link khandro? there isn't any.

untitled, if you don't care why are you caring?

11:03 "Goodness really scraping the bottom of the barrel now in trying to discredit SKS" - well if giving away sovereignty is the bottom of the barrel what's the top?

Question Author

Untritled, How could there be a British national outrage in Germany ?

there isn't a national outrage about this issue anywhere khandro... because nobody is outraged. well, aside from a tiny number of right-wingers.

As much as I despise the disgusting hypocrite that SKS is, and the fact that he's completely out of his depth, ceding territory isn't something that happens overnight, and this process would have commenced under the Tories.

So, as much as I'd like to blame Starmer because I detest him, in this situation I can't.

I just love this website. Full of very knowledgeable users! 😂

Can I have my country back KS.

DD //...this process would have commenced under the Tories.//

That's debatable. It was only mooted, and that was 2 years ago. If it was put before the House now, I doubt it would have gone ahead.

It's all Student Union politics from this incompetent, and dangerous shower.

khandro be honest... how much did you care about these islands a week ago?

Do you really think that SKS could give up a territory in 90 days?

The world is beginning to realise Keir Starmer is a man of straw, there will be a lot of bandwagon jumping from now on.

Question Author

Do you really think that SKS could give up a territory in 90 days?

I think he'd sell his grandmother if he could get a good price.

LOL, Truss and Sunak's respective governments were part of the process. What would be more surprising would be if Labour, having just got in, said  "Do you know what, we're not going to do that."

Question Author

MP Nigel Farage has tweeted;

Parliament must have a debate and a vote on the surrender of the Chagos Islands when it returns on Monday. No government should be able to surrender sovereignty without debate, especially as this was not in the Labour manifesto.

oh please 🙄

Khandro 16.42, Mr Farage is right.  This shouldn't be one man's decision.

Mr farage ought to pay some attention to his constituents.
