Is the writing on the wall for the Conservative party to be kicked into oblivion at last ? As Lord  Bamford ,who has given millions of pounds to the Tory party in the past, and is a big friend of Boris has funded an £8,413 helicopter trip for Reform Party leader Nigel Farage. Is Bamford now courting Farage . Because he knows there is no future for the Con Party.

No one wants excessive taxation of any sort, but particularly not specifically aimed at their group. Throwing money at certain groups is something the present government shows that they are keen on.

14.22  Nobody is suggesting that any government should chuck money about, and I don't believe for one minute that the previous government did throw money money at everyone as you suggest.  They just did things in a different way, to support businesses during some difficult times.  But talking about chucking money about, how about a 22% pay increase for train drivers without any need for them to make any reforms. They gave a pay increase to perhaps one of the highest paid  while allowing them to continue with their Spanish Customs, and asked pensioners to help pay for it by removing their WFA. As I have said before there are many Labour MP's who have been elected with a majority in the low hundreds, and some in double digits. It has been estimated that there are some 15,000 pensioners in these constituencies, and as some pass away, they are replaced with a new intake. Who do you think they will vote for at any election.  I would hazard a guess, Conservative, Reform or Liberal, certainly not for Starmer & co.

15.14 Mr Nicebloke. Agree with you it will take time and money to put the UK at the top, after the damage the Tories have done  in the last 14 years .  But Labour will repair the damage and make Britain a Country to be proud of once again.....And then there will be blue birds all over the Country ....Just you wait and see.

I really do believe that Gulliver and nicebloke are a couple of wind up merchants, who, because they seek attention, post as they do, for surely no sane person could believe in the drivel they spout.

^^ Ok whatever you say.

Oh I don't know, Gramps.  The sentimentality expressed at 15.25 brought a tear.  😂

gulliver & nicebloke are they conjoined, are they Siamese twins ? are they the same person ? - they both have '1' after their monikas and are similar wind-up merchants.

Do they mean us ?

btw, Item of news just spotted;

Rachel Reeves’s Budget ‘will cost Britain 100,000 jobs’

Employers will pass along increased cost of NICs to workers with cuts, warns Deutsche Bank

^^ Whats this got to do with gullivers OP ?

Hello Mr Nicebloke @ 17.55.Yes I have also noticed how many Tory posters are trying to sabotage this thread, by going off topic.

And all using estimates and hearsay, no concrete evidence whatsoever.

Mr Nicebloke. I think the problem here is, that the really dyed in the wool Ab Tory supporters, who were sent to the Tory School of radicalisation by their parents can not believe the game is up, and it's all over.

Bless.

Theres nothing left in the barrel to scrap I'm afraid.

The Tory trough is dry .

It is interesting that the succesful business people have chosen to donate to the Reform party rather than the Labour circus or the Libs Dems. I am guessing they, like most of the UK population, have no confidence with this useless failed newly elected UKGov (on a very small number of votes) who have sofar made an absolue cluster of their short-term in office. What a mess.

I liked Andrew Neil's description of this one-term incompetent disaster of a Government's majority.
