//And yet many muslims simply ignore the parts of the koran....// What you fail to understand, untitled, is that Islamic literature (Muslims don't abide solely by the Koran)  provides for every eventuality, and everything they do - from the best to the worst - can, from their literature, be justified in one way or another.  Islam is not simply a religion - it...

No.

What's in a name?

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

That is partly because of a lack of name variety in one particular group. Plus that same group seem keen on larger families.

good old terrorist friend sandy sees nothing wrong,  what a surprise.

Yes, I do doubt it - your islamophobic logic is flawed, but I expect we'll be hearing the usual wailing from your sycophants..

Perhaps future boys born to Christian parents should be named "Jesus" followed by their parents' preferred choice of names?

No - eventually.

21:14 "Yes, I do doubt it - your islamophobic logic is flawed, but I expect we'll be hearing the usual wailing from your sycophants.." - how is it flawed? Is Muhammad a popular name among non Muslims then?

canary doesn't surprise me though he was supporting the Taliban withdrawing education from women the other day.

No.  Another 25 years and these young men will be marrying and producing more. Be afraid.  Probably in about 30 years the adults (or those of voting age) will be in the majority.  I fear for my granddaughters.

I have warned and warned for so many years.  No-one - apart from those who knew and were also waved away as extremists - listened.  All pointed to the nice, acceptable Muslims.  Yes, they exist - but they are a cover for dark Islam.

These days the church is too meek and mild (and denigrated, I agree, justly) to head a fight back.

I could play 'Onward Christian Soldiers' I suppose - to the disapproval of the vicar, churchwardens et al.

Not so much the name, Buen, more the numerical rise of the religion and its concommitant antagonism to a western society. And, yes, I have friends from all religions and none.

The trouble with posting an article over 10 years old is that it's likely to feature things like -

...But for men called Mo, it will take more than insults to make them give up their name. Mohamed Al Fayed tells me: “The Fulham football fans used to call me Mo. I liked that. Serious effort went into making up songs about me. But the big hit at Craven Cottage went: ‘Al Fayed, oh, ho, ho, ho … he wants to be a Brit, and QPR are …’ Well, you write your own lines. These days, the best sound I ever hear is when my grandchildren burst into the room, calling out for “Mo-mo”. So, I am Mo-mo to them, and Mohamed to the world, and delighted to be so.”

(I wonder what the Fulham fans are singing these days?)

At least your fantasy is up-to-date.

If every non-Muslim family called one son by the same name, say Barry, Barry would be right up the top of the list.

Every Muslim family calls a son some form of Mohammad

This is not about the name it's about the growing muslim population. When they get enough they'll form a party and win an election and then abolish opposition, all legally using our own system. Then they'll introduce sharia and before you know it our daughters will be getting stoned for being raped. Nip it in the bud now.

//Nip it in the bud now//

How?

Don't we do this every year?

22:41. Yes Tora, How is your proposed bud nipping going to take place?

00:28  Indeed. Tora's outraged, must be a day ending in a Y.
