The couple, named as Craig and Lindsay Foreman, who are in their early 50s, and were on a trip across the world to Australia on motorbikes, were arrested in Iran in January on unspecified security charges.

Posting on Instagram Mrs Foreman acknowledged that travelling to the Iran, against Foreign Office advice, and to Pakistan was risky and "slightly scary".

"Yes, we're aware of the risks," she wrote. "But we also know the rewards of meeting incredible people, hearing their stories, and seeing the breathtaking landscapes of these regions could far outweigh the fear."

She added: "From the vast deserts of Iran to the towering peaks of Pakistan, we hope to share the beauty, hospitality, and humanity that often go unnoticed."

Mrs Foreman is reported to have been carrying out a research project on their journey to Australia asking people what it means to be human and what constitutes a good life.

She was due to present her findings at a conference on positive psychology in Brisbane in July.  Lindsay Foreman is a life coach with a doctorate in psychology.

I hope they're recovered safely but for supposedly intelligent people this really is appallingly irresponsible.  Sheer madness.

So who cancelled this order jack?

We still should not have paid it,she chose to go there, serves her right no sympathy from me,same with the other two diddly-donks,masters of their own downfall, let them look at the breath taking views from a prison cell.

It would appear that we did, due to the overthrow of the Shah and us not wishing to arm a 'rogue nation'. But we didn't return the money not spent on the tanks, etc. either.

It still gets me angry frip.A couple of million to these Iranian aerosols would be okay, but 400 million. No wonder the rest of the world laughs at us Brits,no wonder every scum bastrad in the world wants to come to the UK.

@21.28.So who cancelled this order jack?

 ynnafymmi

Just try and organise a GayPride event over there hun.See how you get on.

Try organising one in New Zealand.

radical islam needs to be eradicated as far as im concerned, funny.. before the muslim brotherhood it was working,

It wasn't me.....if that's what you are suggesting....

I am not sure how many more ways I can answer your question.

It wasnt me who did what jack? You arent making any sense now hun.

From Wikipedia

'In February 2018, Richard Ratcliffe said he believed his wife's release was dependent on the interest on a £450 million debt the UK has owed to Iran since the 1970s for a cancelled arms deal. In October 2019 he repeated the claim with more detail, stating that a UK government agency was using "every legal roadblock to delay and minimise the payment".

In 1971, the Iranian government, then under the Shah of Iran, paid Britain for an order for more than 1,500 Chieftain tanks and other armoured vehicles as part of a £650 million deal. When the Shah's regime fell, Britain cancelled the undelivered part of the order and the Islamic regime asked for a partial refund on undelivered tanks. A legal dispute had existed between Britain and Iran ever since. In May 2021, after his wife had her sentence extended yet again, Richard Ratcliffe wrote a piece for Declassified UK, in which he stated that the UK's secretive, unaccountable arms export is a danger to Nazanin and British citizens everywhere.' [Emphasis added]

I would suggest I am making more sense than you......hun.

ynna - I think you need to step away from the bottle Hun.  You are ranting and have spoiled a sensible (well, it started off that way) discussion.

Sorry friend, but i dont drink.Just because i get the better of you in an argument...

You don't have to apologise.  Maybe one day I can have a Saturday night as exciting as your's though

Anyone that goes to a dangerous country and ends up in trouble is either stupid or knows the risk they're taking.

Either way I have no sympathy for them.

why are people going on about an old case? This is about this latest brainless pair.

As someone has said previously lets hope this pair see "the spectacular scenery"from a Iranian prison cell window for a long time.Surely no sentient sane person would go anywhere near this sheet-hole failed state anyway. They werent MI5 operatives were they?

we should not waste any resources on these plonkers, tell Iran they can keep them as long as they want.
