Why was the person handling the crufts winner eating all the dog biscuits in such a funny way??

Maybe posting this in Animals and Nature would get a better response Dom. Not sure if it's silly, possibly something quite sensible that the handler's doing. . I kind of assumed that he was roughing up the edge of the biscuit/treat so that when the dog licked it, they'd get a taste, without chomping down the whole thing.

I'd just like to say, "Well done Chance!!". That's the first Crufts winner in years that's been my favourite right from the Group stages. Absolutely beautiful dog, with a stunning coat.

When you are trying to get your dog's attention in the ring, you will do anything! Some dogs are shown with food as the bait, some like a squeaky toy, some only need a word from their handler. The handler's job is to get the dog to 'show' itself at its best and if your dog thinks you are going to eat its titbit, then it will look expectantly at you, alert and on the ball.

Some breeds are shown with just an occasional treat, some, particularly Rotties, seem to be fed a constant stream of goodies even while the judge is trying to assess them.

If I had made t to that stage, I would stand on my head stark naked if it got my dog's attention! The judge doesn't care what the handler does, only that they can see the dog at its best.

They actually have competitions where the handler is judged and not the dog, and the best handlers are the ones who blend in with their dogs, getting the best out of them without being noticed themselves.

Beautiful dog, hope people don't rush out to get one just because they won Best In Show at Crufts, as they are not an easy breed to own and train.

I dont like dogs being in the same postcode as me never mind touching lips with one.
Never mind hospital car parking charges and taking kids on holiday, this should surely be illegal and if its not it really, really should be.

Crufts?Overbred dogs that will suffer in later years,Its not about dogs sadly,its all about money that any future cruft winners pups will be worth,and then more overbreeding.

Dont feel sad for me lankeela - i am able to form relationships with other human beings and am able to kiss my beautiful children.
I am very happy thank you very much as to not be so desperate for affection that i kiss a stupid animal that was probably licking there own bits a minute earlier.
When will people realise that dogs only like you cos you feed them- if someone else fed them they would like them just as much!
