Hi Fender, The worrying thing is that it won't Al
At least it'll be something new to blow up .... better than a tube station
Terrorists don't blow up their own mosques if it can be helped .That thing is here to stay .
Here's to a 100 million Christian church in Riyadh, who are the intolerant ones?
I think you'll find that freedom of religious expression is an age old cornerstone of British values, actually. And if it's paid for privately - which is apparently what will happen according to an extremely cursory Google search - why should you care?

And on the count of three, jerk those knees...
Open you eyes Waldo, slowly but surely the Islamists are taking over this once great country of ours.
May I ask the ones complaining about the privately funded Mosque, are yous all regular chuch-goers?
If you forget about the religion then as a building a mosque can be a beautiful structure. The dome is quite pleasant to see and with 100 million i suspect it will improve the lanscape. Same as a beautiful church or a hindu temple (neasden)
nantyboy, the Islamists are NOT taking over anything, stop being so paranoid and gullible to the utter trash that the media spoon feed you. Who the hell cares ( or rather should care) if someone builds a Mosque which is privately funded? Is it anything to do with me? No, so I mind my own damned business because if this country is to stay as great as you'd have us believe it is then we have to be able to accept each other for who and what we are bc isn't that what "Great" Britain is supposed to be about? If it's not then just say and we'll all become the sort of bigots you appear to be afraid of, but it is rather hypocritical don't you think?
Corbyloon, I don't get your point. Are you saying only church-goers may complain or only non-churh goers ?
My point is, folk are complaining about Muslims wanting to build a Mosque so that they can practise their religion in a place of worship. Why should folk complain about a Mosque if they don't go to their own place of worship? Why are yous not trying to raise money to build a church if yous are that concerned about the decline in Christianity? I doubt you'd get much money, mind
round my way, disused churches have been turned into mosques, which may say something about comparative attendance rates. But if they'd sooner spend their money on a brand new one, why not? How else were cathedrals built?
I don't know about it, but is it being funded by the Islamic 'church' (sorry, don't know the word), or is the government paying for it?

If the former, then I don't have a problem as long they're only redeveloping an existing site. If the government are putting up the readies, then it's no more acceptable to me than the C of E run, state funded school they're building down the road from where I work.
Looks quite nice...!!(*:_*)
HERE
they've even installed a footy ground...hehe..(:-)
How much is being funded by the National Lottery?
Privately funded? don't have a problem with that at all. If the government are providing the money then I do have a problem ~ I would much rather see that money go into some way of stopping my local hospital closing.
Wheres winston churchill when you need him, im sorry but my dads brother didnt goto war and sit in a rat infested trench in korea and fight for this country for all the free riders to come and put up useless mosque that they only benefit from.
The sooner they preach on their own doorstep the better .
Id bet they wouldnt stand up for this country in a crisis, or even a war, they would flee like dirty rats.

100million could save alot of ethiopians, and probably put a water supply in .

do the governmant actually pay for this then??

A 16 acre mosque will have a profound influence on life in the area, it's not merely a place of worship.

Have there been discussions with the local population ? It's not like they are proposing a small scout hall.

I hope they are as tolerant of us as we are of them.
