Anyone have an opinion as to whether faith schools are a good or bad thing? Do they encourage tolerance and diversity, or the opposite..?

i think religion should be left out of education.i live in west central scotland and see first-hand the hostility it breeds.faith schools just breed intolerance to those of other faiths.as for muslim schools, (if they pay for it themselves that is and not with my taxes), theres nothing we can do about it.and by the way, let them buy their own burkha medical gowns(as per the news today) !! as if the NHS isnt overstretched enough!
As long as England is a free country we should have the right to make the choice.
However, with being free comes great responsibilities: the responsibility to understand and accept that we are all free. People who attend faith schools and then try to impose their faiths on the rest of the nation, be them islamic, buddist, Christian, Catholic or any other faith, especially if that imposing is done in a violent or coercive way are not honouring the freedom they enjoyed in attending a Faith school in the first place and they have no place in the land of freedom.
Of People who have much; of much is required.
