Does anyone know how the current monthly death-rate for civilians compares with the monthly state-murder rate (i.e.executions and torture) under Saddam Hussein? Have things got better or worse? And are the majority living more stable, happier lives than the fearful mutual suspicion suffered under his dictatorship?
The official figure in kwickys link works out at 62 a day on average
I'd suspect the majority who spent theire lives in fear of him now sopend it in fear of either their neighbours in sectarian violence or American troops losing their heads and killing everybody like these ones did.
