Big brother
I was horrified this morning to see Jo O'Mara on GMTV and the state she was in.The sooner people stop buying into this show, that is run by complete and irresponsible sadists, the better. The disgusting gutter press have finally sickened me off too.I used to buy the sun , not because I'm thick, but because it was cheaper that its other crap alternatives and I like showbiz gossip. No more. This reminds me more and more of the Running Man by Steven King-that was made into a movie, dont you think? the propaganda etc.I wish I could convey my condolences to that girl who has been treated in the most disgusting way.Absolutely sick!

If we all decided to forget about the whole fiasco, instead of discussing whether they were guilty or not of what they are accused of, they'd go back to being untalked about Z listers.

well. I disagree BOO, this is a whole new subject.I saw that interview this morning and this girl was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The fact she has to do this on tv to try and stop the death threats is another story.Look, if you dont like the subject, dont contribute. And please dont contribute by telling me what sort of subject is or isn't acceptable, my dear. You don't run this joint.
fair enough.I dont and wont watch that crap. However, I still think the fact this tv company can **** with people's minds and lives and get away with it is disgusting.I'm not buying into it- I'm talking about the aftermath and the girl I saw on tv today who is assuming responsibility for it.f(Eh?)or the eejits and numbnuts out there who toe the part y line, and jump on the bandwagon of insanity and stupidness in falling for the hype of this tv show and the gutter press who are full of 'couldn't quite make it to cambridge' (journalists)/they will bitch, gossip, make up blatant lies to 'affiliate' themselves with their chav readership. It's sick, full stop, and hopefully the majority of the public will see that and vote with their feet.
prattler, you are absolutely right. Too many people on other CBB postings have been like a mob baying for the demise of these girls who simply knew no better and have admitted their mistakes. I suspect the mob won't be satisfied unless Jade and co do away with themselves or are done away with. Yet all the girls have done is make a few silly remarks on a TV show, worst examples of which occur all the time in true reality situations. Most sense of reason and fairness has been lost and it's obvious who the real bullies are. God help this nation if this baying mob ever get the control they seek.
I used the comparison since you think the racist comments and bullying were "silly remarks," minor in comparison to what goes on everyday. There is physical violence everyday so to use yir own scale, a skelp would be minor and therefore accepable.
To call the remarks "silly" and to excuse them because they knew no better does not stand up to scrutiny. One of Jade's Grandfather's was black and she was bullied at school, do you still say she knew no better?

Like I said on another thread most people in this country have seen CBB and BB often enough to know that they edit the programme and show the most controversial bits, so one would think that anyone appearing on it would be a little guarded! The fact that those three bullied Shilpa Shetty and it was shown around the country to thousands of impressionable youngsters sent out the message that it was acceptable behaviour, well clearly it's not, and thanks to people speaking up and expressing their disgust at that kind of behaviour maybe more people in the real world will speak up against the bullies and racists that are out there in schools, communities and work places around the country making life miserable for others who they deem different, whether it's because they're smarter, prettier or a different colour! As for the tabloid press, they've always printed sensationalist garbage, so no change there then!
CORBYLOON, as with everyone in British society, there will always have been endless indications to Jade beyond her immediate circumstances that prejudice is not acceptable. However, as has been pointed out infinite times, her intelligence is below average and she clearly hasn't absorbed the necessary information. I don't consider violence acceptable in any circumstances other than sometimes in self-defence and I'm saddened that you do.
The best thing,/b> about this story is how the vast majority of people have come out against the bullying meted out by J, J and D.
The worst thing about the story is that we can also see that there is a minority of people who take it way too far.
I imagine these three are being abused in the street, called name etc etc. Must be pretty scary...people should just leave them alone now...let them return to obscurity - and not bully them in the same way that they bullied Shilpa.

Fair enough Sp1814 Im not sure when its on myself I had just read the above in a very small section of the paper, but the ratings for CBB were pretty bad I believe before this started some of the worst of the CBB series so far, So I was just thinking about how the media jumped on this story but not the other.

I remember the story being splashed on the front of one of the tabloids about 10 days ago, but y'know what? I think that people are now beginning to suffer from fatigue on the story.
Another element has a bearing - Jade and Jo (not so much Dani) were already public figures, and especially with Jo, it was quite a shock for some people to see the other side of her.
This other girl is just (as far as I could tell from quickly reading the story whilst waiting at the checkout at Sainsbury) a rich twit.

Girls who knew no better? Good God, are they five years old? If the ferocity of the public backlash against them has scared the cack out of them, maybe they'll think twice about bullying anyone again. That said, death threats are simply not on, and I don't see the point in continuing the witch-hunt any further. The point has been made (several times), and hopefully these three wastes of space will find their 15 minutes of fame coming to a very abrupt end very soon, so can we (as a nation, not just on this thread) move on and talk about something else now?
