How long is too long?

Poor old Tony is under scrutiny once again. The man cannot seem to get a thing right in the eyes of the public. Mr Blair has been questioned over the cash for honours affair. He said: "I am not going to get into a situation where I am pleading for my integrity, not even in front of the British public." He has vowed not to quit until after the police have finished their investigations.

With his future in question and his troubled stint in office is anyone going to miss him when he is gone? Will you be sorry to see Tony Blair leave?

No, I won't miss him. In fact I can't wait for him to go. The only thing that worries me is will Gordon Brown be any different?

Gordon Brown? oh heaven help this nation when his feet are under the desk. I don't recall ever voting for Brown and Bliar seems to be using any excuse to stay in office. I won't be sorry to see Bliar leave and its time he was tried for war crimes. Those that sit in his chair should be equally responsible too as they represent the party. I doubt if Labour will ever be in charge of this country for many many years to come thanks to Bliar and party members who take over from him (if we can ever get rid of him before he is good and ready) Brown is too dour and as chancellor has caused so much taxation - as a PM he will only back the new chancellor. He has no personality and I don't think any of us voted for him to become a PM so the nation need to go to the polls right now and choose who we want in number ten before any more harm is done.

We don't vote for anyone to be Prime Minister though. We never have!

Tony Blair was elected leader of the party by MPs and Trades Unions. We, the general public, have never had a say.

P.S. I'm sure our Prime Minister must have much more important issues to deal with, rather than entertaining someone who most of us had never heard of until a few weeks ago - himself included!!!!

Sadly, enthusiastic young politicians often end up as uninspiring, blinkered liabilities in their later careers. This is magnified tenfold if they gain ministerial status and a hundredfold when they get to the top. Future politicians should learn that three terms is too long to remain a PM. I'm sure Blair is living in his own fantasy world like the literary figure, Billy Liar, and truly believes he still has something of worth to offer. The best thing he can do for the country is go.

Cash / Benefits / Influence have always been traded off for peerages - but, today it is not PC (hoisted by your own petard?) - Prime Ministers tend to be in the 'thick of it' - but, finding the smoking gun is difficult, since DNA and prints are wiped off after use (by the Downing Street Chief of Staff etc)

A 'racy' ending will only increase interest in the ineveitable Diaries to be published + grow the interest in the USA (politicians are never 'white') - there must be money in the pipeline to pay for all those mortgages .....

He has played the game close to the wind, and got away with it - unlike Chirac who has already been named in a Parisain court for financial irregularities or Schroeder who cut a nice lucrative deal in the German / Russian oil pipeline.

Good luck to the guy - running UK Plc is no picnic, and many that have remained silent during his tenure in office, now come out bleating the loudest - give me a man any day who takes decisions rather than other recent Pms who dithered. (There is a lot of similarity in action taking by Thatcher / Blair)

I must be very fickle because I like the man simply because he has worked hard under pressure and probably lost out so much on bringing up a normal family, he has chosen a difficult life, one i do not envy him.

I still have visions when Alistair Campbell was standing in the background watching Tony Blair carry out his instructions. I believe the outcome of this made him over-react by appearing to stand firm and be his own man,
But the Iraq war shows a lepard never changes its spots. While appearing to stand firm and appear a good leader he was only substituting Alistair Campbell for Bush. In fact it shows he is not a good leader at all!

I am afraid that it appears to me that almost all politicians feather their own nests whenever they get the opportunity. The true quality of anybody is what they do once they are in a position of authority or power. Something drastic needs to be done to get out of many of the shameful things that have affected good, honest and hardworking citizens of this country. Think about - too enmeshed in the EU, the unbelievable progress of human rights and children's rights and the enormously funny and laughable political correctness. Look up the UKIP website.
