Well done to Sir Michael. It just goes to show that even the anti-establishment will become respectable if they hang around long enough. My question is this, did the Queen go into hospital to avoid coming face to face with the 'Wild man of Rock' ?

And has she ended up in the bed next to Ozzy?
What a crock. How many fans has he let down by abandoning his principles? I bet Johnny Rotten never collects his knighthood (if the Queen ever offers one in a mad tempestuous fit following an LSD trip)
Well done for what exactly? He has become a total luaghing stock, a sell out, a sham.....This was a guy who was banged up for doing more coke than a bottling plant on overtime and was happy to be seen as such when it was hip and groovy with the swining cats of the day but now it's sadly all about the money.....at least Keef (skeletor) still looks like he takes it seriously.
I seem to remember he got done and charged for drugs and on appeal was it was quashed and he was accquitted. I was under the impression that unlike Macca he has never been convicted of any drugs offences
There are various sorts of knighthoods. Today the distinctions are blurred because of general ignorence of the distinctions and because the recipients are simply referred to as "Sir" in the press and other media. It's my belief that entertainers should be given another title..whether Jagger or Olivier. Knighting people on economic grounds is getting pretty low and people mentioned like Jagger and Rotten, whose lives are the worst examples of how ordinary people (forget the examples like Amin, Sharon, Bush and similar) should live their lives. In my opinion they denigrate the concept of knighthood. Perhaps a title like "Eco-asset" would be a better title and use the simple Mister when applied. Thus "Mr Mike Jagger, Eco-asset by appointment". In dragging the concepts of royalty and chivalary...the latter term completely foreign to rock artists in general...increasingly into the gutter the British parliament, and the queen (in this case) who 'agrees'to the Prime Minister's suggestions usually, is simply bringing all the good things of British Aristocratic Service, Military Service, Diplomatic, Charitable and other Service into less than mediocrity and no longer an example for the young and not so young to follow. I accept that many other knights have also been knighted after less than desirable example for us to follow. . Was, for example the appalling Robert Maxwell a knight? However when one gets to the level of knighting Jagger..who has been quite a businessman, Rotten and others I think its all over red rover! Knighthood was about reaward for a noble life and as an example to be followed. Cheers
