Gay promotion in schools.

MEP fights 'gay' books for schools
Books illustrating gay relationships are becoming part of the school curriculum under the new Sexual Orientation Regulations Act.
Titles such as 'The Sissy Duckling', 'Hello Sailor' and 'Daddy's Room mate' are recommended by Government departments for children aged 5 upwards.
One shows pictures of two males in bed together and cuddling on a sofa whilst 'Elmer' in 'The Sissy Duckling' is promoted as "a terrific role model for any child" on a Government website.
'Strange Boy' aimed at secondary stage pupils contains an explicit description of a homosexual act between two boys aged 10 and14 years old.
UKIP MEP Derek Clark described the books as "completely unsuitable" and said he was "appalled" at the decision by some local authorities to use the books.
"How is it in any way suitable for schools to promote under age homosexual acts?" asked Mr Clark, himself a teacher of 39 years.
"Schools should be concentrating on teaching children how to read and write. Is it any surprise that the UK has some of the worst rates of literacy in Europe when our teachers are having to spend their time promoting gay rights to youngsters?"
The new regulations could see schools compelled to promote gay rights in the curriculum rather than counter threats of legal action from gay activists.
I find this extremely alarming and I'm sure the majority of others will too. This sort of politically correct brainwashing ill-serves our children.

I'm surprised by the venom displayed by some posters at Gay Pride days.
I'm still not sure how they feel it's 'rammed down their throats', unless of course, they're kidnapped by gay men, marched out of their houses and made to dance to Gloria Gaynor records for an entire weekend.
At the end of the day, I think we all have to accept that our grandkids and especially our great grandkids are going to look back on us and say, "Blimey - they were a bit backward", in the same way we look back on the Edwardians and say, "What? No votes for women...blimey they were a bit backward".

Regarding the Daily Mail Bashing, this is just another way of trying to stifle free speach in this country. Along with the words Racist, Bigot, Homophobic, etc. that are rolled out if anyone dares to criticise racial or homosexual issues.
Regarding the homosexual issue, I don't have a problem with the sexuality of a person, it is the sexual act between two males that causes me disgust, as would a simular act between a man and a woman, in fact I am not too sure if this is still not a criminal act in the eyes of the law.
NJOK keeps asking Theland to define normal, normal is the act between male and female which takes place so as to propagate, and before anyone accuses me of being a religious bigot, I am not infering that it should only take place when one wishes to produce a child I am not, but this is what we have always classed as the normal sex act, and the male and female bodies are so designed (for a better word) for this act to safely take place.
Perhaps the peado's should be allowed their rights and say too in schools ? asks youngmafbog.
Just look into your crystal ball as abhorrent as this may seem, it will come about. Who would have thought say 50 years ago that not only would homosexuals be popping up in all walks of life, but they would also be allowed to marry, campaign for their rights and somehow convince herterosexuals that to criticise their lifestyle is definite a no, no.

I refer you to your post:

Wouldn't you say it's a fair comment that homophobes have had free speech on what they think about gays for hundreds of years?
It's only in the past fifteen years or so that the people have decided that views from the 70s are no longer acceptable.
The evidence?
Civil partnerships became enshrined in law, and all anyone seemed to care about was "When are Elton and David going to get hitched".
As I've said before - I felt a huge amount of pride in my fellow Brits at that time. It was like we suddenly became the most forward thinking country in the world.
It happened, we shrugged and got on with it.
Re: "It is the sexual act between two males that causes me disgust".
I counsel you to not think about it. Anytime you fear that it might come into your head, try to do a complicated long division calculation (157 divided by 13 should do it).
This is the trick I used at the time I found out that John Major was 'doing it' with Edwina Currie.
Worked every time.

"Can't believe that some people still think that being exposed to gay material will encourage some kids to become homosexual!"
This doesn't mean that it serves no purpose. It just means that it doesn't encourage someone to change their sexuality.
That seems quite plain to me. What is it about you that has made you misunderstand that?

There's a world of difference between what people think of as 'gay material' and 'information about gay relationships'.
'Gay material' makes people immediately think of gay imagery - I doubt very much whether the material in question would be inappropriate to the age groups they're aimed it.
Then again...none of us have actually seen the material, so we're not in a position to make a judgement, are we?

By the way, do you really think that the proposals will introduce any form of brainwashing?
Let me put it this way - if kids are to be fed the negative attitudes to gay relationships that we've seen in some of these posts, don't you think it makes sense, in terms of balance that they should be exposed to some more positive attitudes?

That's not a definition of normal. That's an example of it.
I'm asking for a definition. Do you want to have another try, anotheoldgit? Oh alright if you insist NJOK

WILL THAT DO?

Sp1814, sorry been to a meeting. Firstly, no I do not beleive the age of consent for Homosexuals should be 16, however the main point I was making was that to use the Parliament act to do it was inappropriate. The PA is designed to deal with an obstructive lords in important matters of state, not to assist gays in the availability of legal sex. Let me remind you what Peter Tatchell said shortly after they rammed it through (sorry!) : "Lowering the age of consent to 16 is progress, however 14 would be more appropriate". So where's the final aim then Peter? How close to the cradle do yopu want to go?
I suggest people read the article before commenting on that (it is short)

I do think that judging by some posts, people (especially straight men) are really physically repulsed and disgusted to the core of their beings by the thought of two blokes making out....and they can't get past this image of hairy butts and sweaty bodies!! However, the same issues are not raised when the thought of two women is conjured up! In fact it has the opposite effect! So when we talk about gayness, we tend to automatically think of men and brush over the lesbian issue and imagery, as it is not as potent to our sensibilities!
If we look at homosexuality from a biblical standpoint, then jno is quite right....Christians just select which bits they want to 'follow' and discard others, as do all religions.
I would not so much want to tell others how to run their lives, but to be informed about how they are doing it is fine by me.
I know quite a few gay blokes and to be honest, they are just like straight guys apart from their wicked sense of humor and that walk............!!!
